The build next door has been starting earlier than they should, but I'm already up and I'd prefer they just finished. I feel like they're pressing to get it done for xmas.
- We have an odd situation next door where our complex and another party co-own a space. I don’t know exactly why, but the concrete sits on top of a parking entrance that runs underground and it needed repairs or whatever…
  There was a disagreement over how much each party would pay and I think it dragged so much that our complex gave in and well, had to pay more than they wanted.
  This should have been a three month job—that was what we were told.
  I don’t know who on earth hired this company, but there have been minimal workers onsite. Machinery starts first thing the morning, but by early afternoon it sounds like no-one is working. Conversations have been heard and apparently there was quite a cock-up yesterday because the workers didn’t listen to instruction.
  The whole thing is a joke. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were on-going issues and they’ll have to come back to fix it more than once. The hiring for a mil+ job is confusing to me.
  How on earth a bunch of muppets got the contract is beyond me.

With regards to wrapping Christmas gifts; I have taken great care in the past, learned various techniques, using a minimal amount of tape, learning the art of bow making etc..

Various compliments were thrown my way, but, that couldn’t inspire me this year. This years gift wrapping has been a bit haphazard and uninspired with no thought or care given to paper colour choices, ribbon widths or bow size.

I have one more gift to wrap, I’m gonna pull myself together and make it count.

I don't fuck with wrapping paper. I give the first one or two some effort, all the rest get thrown on the wrapping paper then wrapped as quickly and crookedly as possible
Some gifts even just go in those little gift boxes with the fake ribbon glued to the top
- Wrapping gifts is an art form. Many people might brush the off the idea as a useless endeavor because the result doesn’t last long and is ultimately destroyed.
  I happen to take pride in the craft. This is a gift to myself.
What has been the difference this year?

Work Xmas party this arvo/evening. Always nice to get fed and watered on the boss's dime. Got to not forget my KK gift. Last year in the rush to leave the house I forgot it, but the woman I had to buy a gift for lives just around the corner from me so I just dropped it off later. Have just checked through my bathroom cupboards and found I have no makeup at all, not one lipstick, nothing. Lol, I'd forgotten that Miniest used it to paint drawings of faces ages ago and I hadn't replaced it 🤦🏼‍♀️

I reckon next year I might take a holiday to the land of the kiwi birds. I really wanted to do Japan, but I think it's a bit exxy for me, and I'm not sure I'm ready to go that far from the homeland yet

Also, apparently a ticket from melbs to Auckland is about the same as a ticket to Perth, which makes sense but also kind of blows my mind for some reason

Not certain yet. I'm not sure about spending all that money to go look at some rocks and ride some trains or whatever people do over there. But I also don't want to be one of those shrivelled up old people on my deathbed deeply regretting having never left the country

NZ is stunning! Highly recommend going to look at rocks and ride trains over there. I flew into Wellington, caught a train up to Auckland and then drove back to Wellington over a week and a half and was just in constant awe of the country. Did so many typical tourist things and just loved it! I'd never had much interest in going, but have already been back.
However, Japan is also stunning! And fascinating! And like Dumble said, cheaper to be in - food and transport is way less than AU and NZ.
Japan's probably cheaper once you're there.
NZ is pretty awesome, you'll have a great time.

Was feeling quite shit most of the day, awful headache coming and going from last night (think I was severely dehydrated) But after a heap of water, rest, nurofen, a cool chocolate milk, and tidying up - motivated by my friend offering to visit my current place tomorrow - plus a quick zucc and carrot stir-fry - I feel moderately better!

I WILL commit to setting up my new phone now, given that the final item I'd ordered for it online arrived today.

Back from IKEA, thought Saturday night would be a good time to go to avoid crowds. Surprisingly more people there than I expected but very manageable. I hate crowded stores with a passion.

Had meatballs and this amazing cake for dinner from the restaurant, hit the spot.

Then the shopping began. Needed to collect KK present for next week but then “accidentally” spent an additional $160 on crap for my place.

Christmas lights are up outside! Only in the backyard this year, but I'm still very excited!

I've been watching a few of the trailers for new games that appeared at some awards show.

Reading through the YouTube comments is fucking repugnant. No wonder the average person associates video games with incel neckbeards.

The thing that gets me is the grim knowledge that these people are in society. They are neighbours, coworkers, family members etc. They just put on a face in public but let loose with their real self online. You probably unknowingly come across these people in real life. It’s a disturbing thought.

I’ll wait for it to be on streaming, when I can half watch it while doing something else. I’ve see the theatre show and it was really good. So I’m certain I’ll be disappointed by the movie that somehow manages to stretch out only half the story into a part one that lasts 2h40. Also Ariana grandes look creeps me out for some reason.
