My last job, mandatory Monday morning in-office meetings when the first 10 minutes was wasted hearing about everyone's weekends and having to explain what I did for my weekend. It was a horrible way to start each week.
I wrote my work to-do list for the week and it's depressing, I have really fallen behind. I really need to be productive this week. Hopefully the slight thrill of crossing off items keeps me going but for the last few weeks I have been really lacking motivation.
I think I’m going to bail on that 1st birthday this weekend. The only people I know at this birthday are the parents and they’re going to be busy socialising with everyone, and I’ll probably feel awkward in this setting being childless. I’ll just message the day before that I’m sick and don’t want to spread germs. Does this make me a bad friend? I’ll plan a catch up with this friend in a few weeks and still give a present then.
My fav local banh mi place is still slinging loaded rolls for $7.50 and is never that busy, I hope it never gets a glow up. The salted coffee sounds great tho.
I saw those pictures of death cap mushrooms being weighed today and I was thinking - did they mention that evidence during the trial reporting?! Because that seems like pretty damning evidence.
Muting people on my Insta excessively posting about being in Europe. I’m happy for them and all, and yes I’m jealous, but I don’t need to see daily stories & every-other-day profile posts about your trip.
Check your employment agreement - it might say you need need your employer's permission to have a side gig.
You have to issue invoices with your ABN on them. I use Xero for my invoicing, but my side gig is my whole gig so it's worth paying for proper accounting software. There's probably a cheaper (or free) option out there for creating invoices.
If you're not registered for GST as well, then I think you don't need to charge any GST for your services (do a check on this). GST reg is needed if you'll earn over $75k in a year.
You declare the income for your side gigs in your tax return and pay tax to ATO at that point.
I need to buy a present for a 1st birthday I’m going to next week (for a boy). I was thinking some clothes (bigger size he can grow into) and maybe a kid’s book? Any other ideas? Budget is $50 - $75.
I was part of the Medibank, Optus and Latitude cyber hacks, and just received a notification from Qantas that I'm involved in theirs. Protection of my personal information is just meaningless at this point.
At my co-working space they do a free breakfast on Wednesdays - you best believe I loaded up my plate. There was waffles with chocolate sauce, English muffins with ham and cheese, croissants, yoghurt with fruit, donuts, I got it all. Food coma incoming. And I brought my own lunch too.
Don't have much time for making dinner tonight - I have those fresh chicken kievs from Aldi so going to air fry that with a side of veggies (some broccolini that needs using up) and maybe some chips too.
