  • I have to confess that more than a year in, I haven't really explored Lemmy at all, 99% of the time I just go straight to the DT.

Not that I have much to offer to a gardening convo. I attacked my garden with a hedge trimmer today and it looks like a cyclone's been through.

  • I'm eating After Dinner Mints before dinner like a proper rebel.

  • I had to use MyCar for my last flat because they were the only place open between Christmas and New Year, and they were fine. Quick, efficient, friendly.

  • I've been in a similar place. Can you take some stress leave/sick leave? Ideally at least two weeks so that a) you can unwind properly and b) somebody else has to pick up the slack at work.

Do it now, not once project x is done or when we've met that next deadline. New stuff will keep coming up.

  • It's not worth it. It'll just get dirty again. Have a cup of tea instead.

  • I haven't achieved much today but I've turned black bananas into banana choc chip muffins and they're delicious.

  • Australia is brimming with culture and meaning. It doesn't have to be exotic or ancient to be 'culture'.

  • How does it feel to be a Disney princess?

  • Gratitude thread.

    • Lovely sunshine
    • Cat snuggles
    • Compulsory voting and a generally sensible and independent electoral system here
    • I get to catch up with some old friends at the weekend
    • Summer fruit coming in to season. Blueberries for breakie, yum.
  • I reckon it could be a good time to read more books and avoid the internet.

  • My cat's heart isn't working well and he doesn't have a great prognosis, but he's well and happy in himself and I'm focusing on that. We'll be ok.

I've just ordered takeaway for the first time in yonks. Fried goodness is now on the way to me and in the meantime I've poured a glass of wine. I will enjoy it and not wallow.

And I'm putting my fingers in my ears and ignoring the news out of the US.

  • I use a council gym and it's fab. Pretty cheap ($36/fortnight for the top membership which includes reformer pilates) and it's pretty social too. With really lovely staff and a mandate from council around social inclusion and engagement and stuff. They run events, there's a cafe, and it's just a really nice vibe.

It's not actually my closest council gym though, I travel (a whole ten minutes) to a neighbouring LGA for a shiny new facility.
