  • What does that have to do with less people being killed? Even if they went unsolved there are less overall.

  • Why would I respond to baseless points that are leveled against resistance groups without fail EVERY TIME there is a conflict like this? It's tired, I'm not that young, I've heard all of this already. What is your basis for saying Hamas has been purposely using Palestinians as human shields? I would have the same discussion in person, I'm open with my beliefs. I don't want Hamas to kill anyone FFS, I'm a Buddhist and a vegetarian, I don't even want someone to kill a fly, putting words in my mouth is not a useful way to win an argument.

  • I did respond, I didn't flatly call you a liar, I was implying that from my perspective your view seems to either be deliberately antagonistic and untrue or you are not receiving accurate coverage of the conflict. I love Jewish people, I'm not an antisemite or desire any sort of death for Jews or any other group for that matter, but the actions of Israel should be condemned, and they have engaged in massive misinformation campaigns related to Palestine for decades. This is not to say I don't also condemn terrorism and killing of civilians by Hamas as well. But it is relevant to examine who is the original aggressor in the conflict and for what reason the conflict began.

  • How many people defending Israel now have read about their funding and support for Hamas? Netenyahu's government supports the most extreme of the militant groups within Gaza purposely to keep Palestine divided. Even his supporters in Israel are aware of and critique this fact.

  • Reminds me of all those babies thrown out of incubators by Iraqi forces. (in case anyone wonders about that it turned out to be false) Whether or not you agree with their actions the comment you are replying to is correct, Hamas is only designated a terror group by the minority of nations, although since it includes the US and the EU they have a lot of sway with their designation.

  • We see so many ads every day that I tune out a lot of bullshit around marketing, I could easily see how a person grabbing a drink would only see the big 'mango yuzu citrus' and not think that was caffeinated. At first glance the label just looks like the calorie information, though it is true it should be the person's responsibility to notice, but I could see a reasonable person making this mistake easily.

  • The debacle prompted criticism even from allies who said Netanyahu had facilitated Hamas’s grip on Gaza as part of a strategy to divide Palestinians.

“Since coming to power in 2009, Netanyahu has built up Hamas as an alternative to the Palestinian Authority,” wrote Yoav Limor, the military affairs correspondent for Israel Hayom, a normally pro-Netanyahu newspaper. “He was warned countless times that this was a dangerous plan: instead of bolstering the pragmatic elements, he strengthened those that will never recognize Israel’s existence.”

Even normally pro-Israeli news outlets are condemning what is happening. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/oct/30/israeli-tanks-on-outskirts-of-gaza-city-with-key-road-cut

  • If you were actually concerned about killing someone with your airstrike, wouldn't you warn them in the fucking language they speak, in a way that actually reaches them???? I'm so fucking baffled at the psychology behind excusing what is going on.

  • "Israeli precision is a paragon of modern warfare" I've mentioned the strike that hit a vehicle carrying over 70 refugees on a designated safe route, and the claimants of Israeli's amazing military technology have had nothing to say about it.

  • Your comments are nothing but frothing Israeli propaganda. If you aren't lying, you are extremely misinformed of the situation.

  • Israel will strike an area and kill hundreds of people. If there are males 16-30 killed they will say they were militants often, and that the civilians were collateral damage due to the use of proximity shielding. They do not go in and verify whether or not the people killed were militants. This is an age old tactic, the US would do the same to shift blame for atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • Is there any source for that idea, or that this is actually happening? The only source for this article are US officials, who are full-throated allies of Israel, so there likely could be a bias. Telegraph is widely known as biased.

  • I love that the world's idea of Seattle could be mostly based on Frasier, a show not filmed in Seattle, starring no one from the state nor written or created by anyone from Seattle, with hardly any plot line that has anything to do with the area. Basically the only thing Seattle in that show is the Space Needle, and they way they show it isn't even possible in real life.

  • What do you mean? You can watch it happening, it's not a secret. There aren't attacks on Israel right now,, they aren't being invaded, Gazans are pinned in a box being slaughtered in one of the densest cities in the world.

  • The terrorist designation of a group is specific to the countries calling that group a terrorist group. Most nations of the world actually do not designate Hamas as a terror group. There is still a responsibility for a state military to adhere to international laws of conflict when engaging a non-state group.

  • It's not interesting actually, it seems to be what is happening now and it's sickening.

  • You're right, I shouldn't imply it's so black and white, there are a lot of complex aspects to it. Hamas is not all of Palestine, or even the only militant group in Palestine. There is a wide coalition in Palestine against Israel with little hope in peace because they have sought peace in the past with no fruition.

  • I'm saying that Israel is in the wrong and they have the choice to disengage in the conflict and try to create peace. They have not elected to do this in the decades they have had the opportunities. They do not accept the terms that Palestine has put forth. Israel occupies areas that are designated as territory for Palestine based on previous agreements, and they continue to push further and claim more territory in Palestine, pushing their goal of eliminating Palestine as a state. If they withdraw and decrease their blockading of Palestine there would be a reduced risk of terrorism.
