  • There are not a small number of people in the US that support a genocide. It was a more popular slogan a couple years ago, but there are quite a few right wingers that would say the phrase 'six million wasn't enough' meaning we need a new holocaust. There are numerous groups with dozens to hundreds of members in the US that support that ideology. If you haven't heard of the Turner Diaries, it's a book that advocates a day of white supremacist mass murder of leftists and less 'racially pure' people, (referred to as the 'day of the rope') it has been popular for decades and is seen as a guide for neo-Nazis.

  • It's not a conclusion I reached it's a statistical fact. Look at who in the US supports Israel, I'm not just talking about Nazis but the right-wing in general, which includes Nazis, not all of them obviously, they support Israel for now but hope to eradicate them later. Look into radical Christian beliefs on Israel and the doomsday.

  • No no that's defamation, he's merely a lying and raping enthusiast of Nazi rhetoric and practice, he has never been a registered member of any National Socialist Party.

  • My 80+ year old Grandma who lives in conservative land has been calling the Trump flags around 'Nazi flags' since 2016 ahah. The media constantly acts like this is all shocking instead of completely expected, I guess to justify their moniker of 'news'.

  • He did the same thing in 2016, clear use of what seemed to be at least Nazi adjacent propaganda, and he doubled down on it, got elected, are people still doubting he literally supports neo-Nazis?

  • That line of arguing might have worked a few weeks ago, but we have seen numerous times people were bombed in the place they were specifically told to evacuate to. 11,000+ people killed so far, over 4,000 children. If they aren't terrorists then they are prisoners like you said, so why are they being slaughtered by IDF bombing?

  • That's also why it's spelled 'antisemitic' versus 'anti-Semitic', to avoid the idea that it means against Semitic people but against Jewish people specifically, replacing the earlier term "Judenhass" (Jew-hatred) in the late 1800s.

  • Followers of Islam are Muslim, Muslims are Islamic, what is the distinction you are making? I guess you are saying to be against the religion versus the followers of the religion.

Either way though, Islam doesn't have to be violent, people use writings from centuries ago to justify violence that would be there without their religion. Islam like Christianity and essentially all major religions preach peace and love for all people, even your enemies. They require doing good service like giving to charity to obtain salvation. Islamic groups have lived peacefully alongside other religious groups countless times.

  • We have this technology but still only certain perspectives are allowed to be broadcast while others are ignored. I remember meeting people from Palestine when I was young, seeing how nice and chill they were and how they wished they could go back but it was too dangerous. I think it's rare for anyone in the US to have met anyone actually from Palestine or Israel. It's a lot more difficult to dehumanize someone you are friends with.

  • I feel like there are a lot of us that just aren't open about it because so many people have ignorant views about socialism, we'd rather save ourselves the headache. Or maybe worried of an employer judging it and getting fired, or police investigating, which US and other security forces have been known to do to leftists of all types.

  • The weird thing is that the US far-right will often support Israel, even if they are Jewish, I think because they are seen as whiter compared to Arab people like Palestinians. And for fundamentalist Christians there is some prophecy about Israel bringing the end-times to save humanity or whatever.

  • Basically every act of mass violence begins with dehumanizing the enemy. Even well meaning people will be like "oh so he says inflammatory stuff, so what." These words like 'vermin' are a specific call to action.

  • His supporters fully believe his win was stolen the first time. If he does lose the election, that will not be the end of it. It seems like the real die hard supporters aren't even aiming for a legitimate electoral win of any kind even if rigged, just pure coup. They are a tiny minority, but authoritarian governments are often supported and put in place by a small minority of the people.

  • Oh, just like in 2001 when 'radical Islam' hated our freedom so we had to invade Iraq? You can say the same about the goal for Israeli leadership, they have long made it clear they don't support a solution that allows Palestine to exist, they want the idea and the people gone. If they got rid of Palestine you don't think they'd have new targets?

What do you even mean Jordan is next?

  • Like Trump wouldn't turn the genocide up to eleven, we're pretty fucked either way. Democrats at least pretend to want to outsource genocide, right-wingers in the US would openly support it domestically as well.
