  • Its why its inportant to always stress that online interactions arent regulated ratings wise. If any game or application has someone who can talk to another person, gotta do due dilligence on that.

Shit like the pedos using flipnote(an application on the nintendo 3ds) to talk to kids that was later canned for the most part in japan.

  • Its kinda why chrome os works. Majority of people only need the browser, and if you need basic office suite, google has their own cloud options.

Its when you have specific use cases when you HAVE to use a certain os over another (e.g gaming with anti cheat, AI/ML and engineering software is usually windows foward, adobe stability on OSX. A lot of backend and server applications on linux)

  • I like to say having a strong centralized governments has its pros and cons. It allows things to get done on if the government focuses on it(e.g Covid Vaccination development and speed), but on the flip side, if the government chooses to hinder it, then anyone related would heavily be affected (e.g the recent bankruptcy of Evergrand) which more or less hurt anyone who invested money into it, something a good chunk of citizens do (as many invest in housing, be it local, or internationally)

  • For usage in smarphones where the vast majoirty of people use it for point and click purposes, yes. For applications where cameras are hand focused and settings are dialed automaically, no.

For smartphones, its not as useful because a lot of post processing ends up happening to the image. There are times where you dont want the post processing to happen (the raw image)

  • Its pixels, why do you think QHD (Quad HD) is called that. Because its 4x the pixels of HD(720p)

You cant talk about only horizontal because you open up the chat to ultrwides and deceptive marketing, such as AMD using "8k" to show off their new GPUs, when in fact they intentially used a ultrawide and marketed it as 8k.

  • Its why I think companies need to pick up the Valve model of reviews in the area of splitting overall score and recent review average. Recent review reflects whether if something changed and is bad, then the product would rate poorly, despite overall reviews.

  • Its of the few flashsites to retool how the site fuctioned instead of closing it down completely. For flash submissions, newgrounds offer a standalone client for mostly their older content while newer projects use more modern engines.

  • Its unusual for FSR. But the upscaling tech roots in anti aliasing. DLSS was originally designed to be an anti aliasing tech, quite litterally in the name (Deep Learning Super Sampling), so it isnt out of the picture that FSR could be used for the same. It was only later marketed to get more performance at lower resolutions afterword. (Im aware the post is not your thoughts, just more of a response to the specific segment you pointed out)

  • Virtualized network. Allows other computers to connect to the network and make it look like its in the local network and not outside of it.

Use cases can range from accessing a local device at home, LAN gaming, streaming content remotely from a home server. You could theoretically for example bypass netflix' sharing block as anyone connecting to the home network would have similar IP and wouldnt get flagged as being in a different region.

  • You basically have the problem non americans have with hersheys chocolate. Your head associates mint with toothpaste like how typically europeans attribute butyric acid(found in american hersheys chocolate) to vomit.

If one had say, had mint bubble gum, drinks, raw mint(south east asian cuisine) or ice cream before getting used to toothpaste, you likely wouldn't attribute mint to it.

  • Unrelated to linux, but theres a reason why there are a lot of IT in Ukraine and Russia. They are also two of the major countries in the piracy cracking scene, and it sort of shows when you look up an arbitrary game, and look at their prices for the two countries (Ukraine and Russia consisitently are some of the lowest, if not lowest priced games for games with regional pricing on pc)

  • outside of the more neutral/negative features people mentioned, some of the major additions is better windows snap management (presets for organizing windows on a screen, and adjusting window sizes), and tabbed folders. It's also meant to be used for windows subsystem for android for android app usage, but you can technically do that with windows 10 with some workarounds.
