  • Get a barebones keychron of yor choice and get silent switches. Bonus if you mod/lube switches youself.

I switched from a Ducky Legend with Cherry Browns to a Keychron Q6 Pro (recently released, basically wireless tenkey w/ knob option with metal body) with hand lubed Durock Shrimp Tactiles and the noise is night and day difference.

If you get silent linear switches over silent tactiles, itll probably be even more quiet.

  • Because piracy is often a service problem and not always a price one. If a pirate can offer you a better service, people will pay for it.

If you only see piracy as a price issue, then it would make sense why you dont understand why people do it.

Take for example, pretty shitty android boxes preloaded with various kodi streams. Say if you speak a niche language in the U.S for example, and want media in that language, some people would be willing to pay for a (pretty shitty) android tv box that has warez steams of saidncontent because thr legal methods isnt easy to obtain nor have the technological knowlege to properly pirate.

  • We already live in a world of edge cases. Because of the existing design of needing to have a car to get around, we have incidents like this:

    https://nypost.com/2023/08/11/los-angeles-elderly-driver-kills-woman-after-plowing-car-into-dealership/

Which only exist because of the necessity to drive in the first place. This is a edge case where a human driver is arguably more dangerous to society than yhe autonomous driver, and only happened because some old people require a car to get around from their homes due to either lack of ability or unwillingness to move, and poor public transportation.

  • A lot of places have bad drivers, and debatedly, a robo driver for instance would probably better than a drunk driver. Both have faults. Robo drivers are pretty good when everything is by the book but its bad with edge cases. Human drivers can cover edges better, but y becomes a trust that said human isnt either a terrible driver or impaired for any reason.

  • They REALLY lowballed the funding when some locations have a stop half mile away on top of being slow and inefficient due to lack of drivers and driver training.

Why even pay a firm for optimal route planning if you dont even have the personel to execute it.

  • I definately agree, no car is close to 100%, but at least with tesla, they put more effort into it than some long time names, even if i dont neccesarily agree with some of their choices (e.g digital ac control)

Something as basic as getting maps to function correctly and consistently for some vehicles is a Challenge.

  • Pop os if you want stability, due to its ubuntu base.

For Arch based ones, common examples would be ChimeraOS (full console like experience), or Garuda OS (arch with a skin and preinstalled apps that function like GFE/AMD Software have, like instant replay and such)

  • An alternative choice is having an external drive formatted for Linux, and setting up the bios to boot to linux if the drive is plugged in. Doesnt require any modifications to the windows drive, and allows you to run Linux natively when you need to.

  • its because of how culturally relevant english is as a language to make others pick it up as a second language. Take for example coding, programming languages were mainly built around english monikers, so a very basic level of english understanding is helpful when doing that. Then you get to the large wall that is western, primarily American media and how its more or less it's largest export.
