For Discord specifically install the Flatpak option for your distro if you have it.

You can try out WebCord on the side too if you want, you have the freedom to install both.

If you want to get a job as a "Linux admin" then Red Hat is basically what you want as a "default". Fedora will give you something you can use at home that's broadly similar. You will need to learn more than just that though.

If xQc wiped us out then it means a lot of interesting people saw the banner and it worked as intended.

The same way as your previous torrent program. Forward the port on your router to the device running qBitorrent and make sure the qBitorrent setting for the port to use matches.

Also make sure the firewall in Linux allows the port too.

On the plus side watching you all tackle and solve these problems gives me confidence in the long term viability of Lemmy and the fediverse. The transparency and often detailed technical discussion definitely helps a lot too.

This is basically the recommended way to install Eve these days.

At one point when they were testing what is now the current launcher it worked flawlessly on Linux because it was based on Qt and they were compiling a Linux binary for it. It fired the game up in Wine and all was great.

They dropped that support fairly quick though sadly once it became the actual new launcher.

Are you on Nvidia and if so how do you make it not suck? I feel like preformance has gotten worse not better over the years. The exact same games with the same settings preform much worse for me on Linux.

No unfortunately I'm not buying a Radeon I need the Nvidia for work.
