  • I'm not queer personally but I find I have a lot more in common with people who are aside from those preferences as time goes on. By the time conservatives start using the platform you're on in numbers it's usually time to move on because the joint has become mainstream and is rapidly going to shit.

  • It's in the name really.

And no, I witnessed this with the internet itself post 2000. Get off my lawn 😜

  • I don't, it's not that much more work as the basics of it won't change that much over time and the functionality will be near identical. We might not get newer features that are eventually added though.

  • I just woke up and posted this pre-coffee so please do forgive my ramblings.

  • What I do is I take several guns and a baseball bat with me when I shower so that I'm never caught barehanded ever.

  • I use it too. It's very good if you prefer an IDE and one stop shop for it all.

  • BROTHER LASER PRINTER with a scanner combo. Literally don't bother with anything else.

  • I like how Firefox doesn't shove crypto shit down my throat nor want to monitorize my web browsing experience at all.

  • Google saw the enshitening of the web and went "hold my beer, I'll show you how it's done!".

  • I'd say that unless you are pretty wealthy then you're pro- something designed to optimally exploit you while making you think that it's the greatest system on Earth and that society can't possibly do any better.

  • How much are the replacement motherboards on a Framework?

  • The modules are easily replaceable to deal with failure or changing needs without buying a completely new device.

So are dongles though. Either way you still have to carry them.

  • Altruistic reasons aside there's exactly no good reason to pay a premium for a Framework vs the options you listed. The features they have are all nice-to-have at best, gimmicky at worst. They are honestly over-hyped in Linux circles for the price.

  • I don't get the hype of paying a premium for these laptops over just doing the research required to make sure you get one that will work fine with Linux instead, for much less.

A modularized laptop is cool but how often are you really going to want to mess with a laptop once it's working anyway?

  • Personally, I think all the heads of social media networks could use some reflection time in one of these just for a start.

    • as long as you direct these towards groups/people we also hate.
  • I love taste.

It's far easier to slap a chook in the oven and end up with something delicious than what I've been able to figure out that's only plant based.

  • You're selling them short. They also developed some crypto shit to shoehorn into it.

  • Worth noting that persistence set certain expectations now that Matrix does not live up to currently.
