  • I'm pretty sure you can do that on individual subreddits as well. Do you mean on an instance wide level?

  • All good. I made a similar extrapolation the other day about pudding not seeming as popular because I wasn't seeing people eating it or it advertised but after voicing my thoughts to a coworker I realized I'm probably just not anywhere near the target market. I'm not a sugar crazed child watching children's TV networks and nor do I have kids myself.

  • That's good to hear. I do feel like the instance stuff can take a little bit of time to get used to before it kind of just clicks.

  • I hope Lemmy's internet points never become a thing people view as important. The way people act on Reddit to get a handful of up votes is embarrassing.

  • For those that don't know this is in reference to Reddit's process of "vote fuzzing". Most explanations online explain it as altering the votes to prevent things like rigging the vote or an individual going to someone else's page and down voting everything they've posted or commented. I think in reality it's more obtuse and erratic. I don't know if the level of "fuzz" varies based off the age of the post or the total number of votes.

  • Easy as well. Things like Bluesky could be a bit confusing for newcomers

  • I feel like this is a you thing. I bet if you started doing it around people others would start doing it without realizing.

  • In a rare moment during the documentary, Gebelli revisited the original Final Fantasy gameplay and humorously remarked that the airship could have looked better if it were 10% slower. This self-critical reflection underscores his perfectionist mindset, even decades after retiring from game development following his work on Secret of Mana.

This was the only section in the article with any reflection on the series. The remainder is just hyping up his programming skills.

  • Because it's what is readily available and affordable. I'd be down for eating ground up insects or lab grown meat. It doesn't really matter to me what I eat.

  • Is the detection really that in-depth?

I could see them checking to see if an email is associated with a second account but using browser cookies or an IP address could cause issues for people who share a network or a computer.

I still see people using Reddit on library computers for example.

That said I've only heard of people getting tagged with ban evasion when they're posting pretty blatantly as the person who just got banned.

  • This is the same reason that you need to cook ground beef to a much higher temperature than you need to cook a steak, more surface area, more points of possible contamination.

    I didn't know this.

If I raised my own chickens and treated them well would it be an issue to eat them raw? It kind of sounds a bit like a mad cow disease situation where it's more a byproduct of the industrialized nature of the industry

  • I don't think there's much you can do in that situation with Reddit besides create a new account.

You'd probably get ignored if you reached out to some support team and creating a new account to call out this individual would probably get you banned for either harassment or circumventing a ban. I also wouldn't recommend the latter for ethical reasons. Shouting out specific people over a screw up can bring a disproportionate amount of attention to the situation.

  • I get you. I've been going through a lot of "best of" lists for various consoles and it's tough going back and playing them because they were obviously made for a younger audience and and having never played them as a kid I don't really feel the same pull.

The Kirby games are a big one. I've seen a lot of recommendations but can't really get into them.

  • Have you tried the mouse and keyboard mod for GoldenEye? I imagine it makes everything incredibly easy but it could be different enough to justify a playing one more time

  • Having to rely on reading and retaining information in manuals is a big thing that keeps me away from a lot of DOS games

  • I was considering playing Warframe a while back because I was a fan of Dark Sector but the reviews I saw online mentioned an incredible amount of grinding. Do you think it's worth picking up for someone who isn't into that kind of thing?

  • You don't think they could take down one?
