  • I mean the kid in the sixth movie lit someone on fire and hit someone in the head with a pool ball. I feel like there's some competition.

  • Do you know how much replacing the screen would cost? I feel like last time I needed to replace a phone I was using for a couple years it was unfortunately cheaper just to get a new one. Felt pretty wasteful

  • Stardew Valley. I was a big fan of Harvest Moon FOMT and kept hearing that I should play it and when I did was I blown away. It felt incredibly similar and 90% of the time I thought "It would be nice if this is a feature" it was

  • So is The Road because there's snow around the twenty minute mark

  • Are there collections of that or would I be doing what I am now and checking individual files?

Searching aspect ratio and 4:3 doesn't seem to pull up much

  • I think that may not be on them. I think it would be a matter of tweaking the FFmpeg core in RetroArch but I don't know if it has live video cropping as a feature especially when within the confines of RetroArch. Scaling? Maybe but that's not really what I'm after.

Searching online I am getting either command line options or unrelated results about CRT gaming.

  • XXL pajamas. I'm a medium bordering on small so I was swimming in them.

I think I also got a video game for a console I didn't have but the gesture was nice.

  • I've played a lot of Lato. It's a simple skiing game where you tap the screen to jump and can hold to rotate yourself in the air. There are rocks and pits to avoid and coins to collect.

Good for killing awkward amounts of time.

  • An RG35XXSP. Basically an emulator in the style of a GBA SP. I've had other handheld emulators before but I like the style of this one with KNULLI.

  • I got my partner one for Christmas as well. I'm hoping to setup netplay so we can play a couple games together

  • Candy cane sounding

    • Amiga, or retro-computing in general. Not just for gaming. There's something deeply inspiring about browsing the web or creating spreadsheets with entirely different hardware and software. Hoping to get an Alpha CPU and/ or an Atari soon.

Kind of similar but obscure operating systems in general are things I'm a big fan of like TempleOS, HaikuOS, AROS, and MorphOS. OSs that are more than odd Linux distros.

Something about the ARM architecture also seems really neat to me.

Do you have any neat videos or YouTubers that cover Amiga content?

  • I hadn't thought about fandom's based around people rather than properties (ex. Movie/game series). I imagine a lot of people feel that way about late Rooster Teeth.

  • To me it means a wave of seasonal content and not much else. I'll watch Christmas movies and shows but I don't have the space or time to go all out with Christmas just for me to enjoy

  • 90% of Lemmy communities

  • Scraper can grab video game maps and manuals automatically as part of it's process if you want them for older games.

  • I also wouldn't say it's sketchy. It's just the overall political leaning of a lot of Lemmy is relatively left leaning and having those measures in place kind of demonstrates the vibe the instance is trying to create.

  • The level of censorship is going to be different depending on your instance and where you are posting to. A lot of instances are managed by individuals or small teams out of passion. They can do as they please and don't have to pander to everyone for commercial appeal like Reddit or Tumblr. If someone doesn't like what they're doing they can join a different instance or create their own.

Instances can defederate from each other over these differences. A lot are defederated from the instance Exploding Heads because of their alt right content for example. From what I understand you can also report content to the administrators of your instance if it goes against their rules and I think they can remove it from appearing on your instance (or block the user that posted it). This isn't going to stop it from appearing elsewhere.

I'm surprised there are not more cartoons with mimes as protagonists. It would probably cut down animation costs and you wouldn't need a voice actor.
