  • I made a big batch of potato soup last night for this exact reason! Got some thick bread to go with it too!

Your stew looks awesome af, and I'm saving that recipe.

Let's hope that we're enjoying these from warm houses with functioning pipes throughout tomorrow!

  • I'm honestly kind of shocked at this. I know for our annual evaluations this year, people were using ChatGPT to write their statements.

I thought for sure someone with a secret squirrel type job was going to use it for that innocuous purpose, end up inputting top secret information, and then the DoD would ban the practice completely.

  • Fortunately this isn't government mandated "cleansing", these people are being told to get vaccinated/wear masks/use hand sanitizer. They're being given every opportunity and encouragement to protect themselves.

Definitely Darwinism doing what Darwinism does.

I just feel bad for the immunocompromised people who will unfortunately inevitably get caught up in the assholes who refuse to take necessary precautions.

  • Gonna make sure my faucets have a slight drip and the outdoor ones are covered.

Other than that, we've got a kerosene heater and a jackery battery that's been charging for a few days now. We'll use that for charging phones/plugging in our wifi if the electricity goes out again!

  • Bruh, it sounds like she was coerced and lead. She likely believed she that she had selected the correct person.

Plus, how is this not on the courts and jurors? They had actual evidence matching someone else that would have exonerated him, they purposefully ensured that he was judged by an all white jury, and they coerced/lead the victim.

Come on now guys, we all fucking know that police play head games with people to get BS confessions. This isn't hard. They wanted a conviction, and they did whatever they could to get one, no matter whether it was the correct perpetrator or not.

  • Bruh. Quoted from the article:

"They said that the prosecution’s main piece of evidence was the victim’s identification of Long weeks after the attack and that it was "the product of a suggestive identification procedure arranged by the police to target Long."

There were also numerous pieces of evidence from the scene, including suspect hair and 43 fingerprints, that could have helped exonerate him, according to his attorneys. The material, which they said did not belong to Long, was tested by investigators but not disclosed. The attorneys also accused Concord police officers of giving false testimony about the evidence at Long's trial."

It sounds like she was led by the police, and all evidence pointing to the contrary was tossed out.

  • Ugh, I cannot say enough good things about that game! Top notch story!

I went into it completely blind, but even if you've seen some game play, there are so many choices and endings that you'll end up surprised no matter what! Everyone that I've gushed about it to gushed back if they've played it already!

  • Suuuuper late to the game, but a few weeks ago my husband talked me into playing Detroit: Become Human (I shy away from Sci Fi games so I knew nothing about it/was hesitant to play).

Holy shit. That may have been some of the best fucking writing I've ever seen in a game.

It also got me really turned on to those butterfly effect/QTE games! I finished Little Hope by the Dark Pictures Anthology in one night (last Friday), and I'm in the middle of Man of Medan right now. The writing isn't as good, but they're still Hella fun and quirky!

If anyone else has any reccs for the Butterfly effect/QTE style games, I'm mad obsessed enough and will most definitely play it!

  • Right? I use a mix of drugstore and mid-range cosmetics as a makeup enthusiast. Drugstore has stepped up their game!

My favorite foundation that I keep going back to over and over again regardless of anything else I try is the $5.99 Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation. It's just so...perfect. I've had to have exceeded 10 bottles at this point.

Same with eye primer, brow pencils, eyeliner, and mascara. So much that ELF and Essence put out in these categories are so good.

  • That's why I said "nearly half" bruh. We have 50 states in the US and a few territories.

And yes, he didn't pardon enough people. I will agree with you on that all day. But how many cannabis users did Trump or even Obama pardon from their sentences?

He's making an attempt despite having a gridlock Congress, and I do commend him for that. That's why I said "nearly half" bruh. We have 50 states in the US and a few territories.

Edit: I will concede federal minimum wage remaining stagnant at $7.25 does suck though. Biden can't force one state to raise minimum wage over another. You got me there, that was a state-loving-their-constituents thing, not a Biden thing.

  • Is this the same Biden that just pardoned a bunch of cannabis users from serving their sentences?

And the same Biden who on 1 Jan 24, nearly half the US states will have their federal min wage raised?

Look, there's plenty to criticize Biden for, mostly ALL of his Middle East actions (not just Gaza-Israel), but let's not pretend he's all bad and hasn't tried to help his own people domestically.

  • Ooohhh have you about buying a band and wearing it on a chain around your neck instead? I know people who work with machinery do that to avoid their rings getting caught on the equipment.

I've always thought it was kind of sweet because now your ring hangs close to your heart everyday!

  • Nikki Haley scares the ever loving shit out of me for this reason. Right now she's saying all the right things about "finding a consensus" on topics like abortion.

Meanwhile while a legislator in S.C., she backed quite a few very strict abortion ban bills. One of them was even a "no exception" policy.

But, right now she "appears moderate" to "moderates", and the Republican party gets to point at her and be like "Of course we don't hate women! We voted for one!"

Ugh....her name gives me a nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach.

  • I think it's eye opening to see how much better everyone's lives are when they have things like free Healthcare, subsidized school, and subsidized housing.

Not to mention many of our deployments occurring to locations where religious extremism has dominated society.

The military used to lean heavily red as a rule, but I think looking around and seeing the struggles of our civvie family and friends makes us go, "Fuck, wouldn't it be awesome if EVERYONE could have this?"
