I legit thought Allred was it. I donated to his campaign the second I heard he was running.

He had the political chops since he had turned a deep red district in Dallas blue for the first time ever, and held it every time he was up for re-election.

He's a former NFL player, which I thought was going to be a big deal to the backwater Texans.

He is Black, so all the racist Texans could point at him and be like "We CAN'T be racist! We voted for a BLACK man to be our SENATOR!"

And finally, he didn't fucking have the devastating out-of-context Beto sound bit "Hell yeah we're taking your guns!" to plague him endlessly.

FUCK I let myself get so optimistic, and I'm still really, REALLY bitter about it.

I literally hide my eyes and gag laugh pretty much every time these guys are on screen. My husband thinks its hysterical because I find them to be hilarious but they make my stomach wretch.

Bruh, I had never heard of Captain Ds until I we stationed in a foreign country (Okinawa, Japan), and my Midwest husband was like "I went to one in Indiana once". So, I'm always astounded by anyone who knows what a Captain Ds is...much less worked there.

I told this story on here way back when I first moved to Lemmy, but I went through a period of eating some sea salted beet chips (fucking delicious btw) for lunch every day. I didnt grow up eating beets, no idea why I tried them, but I didnt realize what was happening when I started pissing red.

Got in with my PCM and was panicking like "I have blood in my urine and I'm not on my cycle, and it looks different anyway!"

So he was like "Aight, what did you eat yesterday?"

I felt like such a fucking idiot wasting his time. But a bunch of kind Lemmings on here assured me that it happens a LOT, and its always better to get checked.

That being said, there should definitely be a warning on those chip bags for those of us who lack critical thinking skills lmao
