And since you won't be able to modify web pages, it will also mean the end of customization, either for looks (ie. DarkReader, Stylus), conveniance (ie. Tampermonkey) or accessibility.
The community feedback is... interesting to say the least.
Ads wouldn't be so bad if they weren't repetitive, loud, creepy, or interrupting of the user experience. But that's what ads are.
If big tech was a person they would have gotten arrested for stalking.
En même temps vu à quel point l'utilisateur moyen privilégie la facilité d'utilisation à la qualité de l'expérience...
Ce n'est pas limité à l'utilisateur moyen. J'ai été très choqué de voir des jeunes développeurs utiliser Chrome sans bloqueur de pubs. Ils me montraient des pages web entourées de bannières clignotantes qui rendraient n'importe qui épileptique, mais ça ne les dérangeaient pas. Et quand je demande pourquoi ils n'ont pas de bloqueur de pub, on me répondait "bof" ou "c'est quoi ?"
And even worse, insecure. Google Adsense used to allow ads from unvetted advertisers, who someone allowed malicious scripts to run. That's when I got much more stern with blockers.
I don't know if they still do it, but I'm not going to expose myself to find out. And it could happen again in the future, even if they did fix it for now.
