I have found myself in a Reddit disagreement where I cannot at all follow the logic of the other parties. I expect they would say the same about what I am saying. It feels a bit like trying to debate a flat earther, there appears to be some sort of fundamental disagreement about the rules of the universe. It makes my brain hurt.
There's a lot to be said for simply dropping your side of the conversation in that situation.
There is. It can end up like poking a loose tooth though, you just can't stop yourself. It feels like you are so close to understanding that just one more snippet of information will bring illumination, but it just keeps failing to happen.
I have gymed. Now dinner.
I very much want garlic bread, but can’t be bothered putting a coat on to source garlic bread

You know that feeling of revulsion you get when you hear a sound like nails on a chalkboard or teeth against metal? It’s called “grima” (from Spanish)
Bring Her Back, an Australian horror movie released recently will give you this sensation. Body horror combined with supernatural elements make it into my top 20 favourite horror films list.
10/10 Splintered teeth 🦷
I saw that last weekend and forgot to comment… Omg it’s brilliant! Unsettling from the get go, and then it just gets worse. The brothers have outdone themselves
Alright I've finally gotten to play it.
Holy shit it's amazing with high gain!
My hands feel weird moving around with the extra string. I keep making little mistakes, over or under extending my fingers.
It'll take some getting used to, but it's absolutely worth it.
Is that a 7 string? They feel weird at first but then you get used to it. Some people get so used to the 7 string they can't go back to 6 strings
Yeah it is. Just the placement of the thickest string relative to the bridge feels really weird. So my fingers automatically go for the 2nd string and not the 1st.
Muscle memory huh lol
It'll Defs take some getting used to.
And here it is!!!!!!!!!
Neat!
oooh!
Pretty 😍
So majestic!!!
"no one cares who I was until I put on the mask" oooh yeah it's CPAP trial time. Have a full mask to start because thats what I tried at the hospital study and it worked ok. It's pretty cumbersome so I might use the trial period to try others 🤞🏻😴😴
Good luck! A friend of mine got one and it’s made a world of difference to her energy levels
I expect vader
Well that's this work week over, i haven't counted down the hours this much in a long time.
Looks like it will take 5-7 working days for both the ATO and super fund to get their stuff organised and both parties are all 'this is weird it's never happened before, this needs escalation (10 minute hold)'. oh well, this is why people get accountants even though this really should've been very straightforward. I've done what I can for now.
On a vaguely related note, really glad that mandatory payday super is kicking in next year. Kinda BS knowing how much is just sitting around not earning interest for 3 months.
I have to finalise my campervan/campsite bookings tomorrow and then it's just a matter of waiting till the end of the month and going on my veeeeeeery badly needed break.
So yeah, week 2 of himself doomsipiraling. Can't talk, cook, or hug it off.
Sometimes you can do everything perfect and the person still isn’t in a space to receive it or come out of that spiral. Love isn’t a substitute for therapy, medication, or whatever he needs, so he has to think about what would help him.
Make sure to look after yourself. You can support him but make sure to spread the load and ensure you’re not trying harder than he is. You can’t do it all
Pakige!!
Pakige! Pakige! the liege demands pakige! Package for the liege!
Pakige is for Miss Meow, so this seems accurate.
Not very exciting, it's a big bag of kitty litter, but I'm sure Madam will enjoy her full litter tray refresh tomorrow. I should also be able to put up her forest decals so she can imagine she's out in the jungle.
just finished Alien: Romulus.
It did not grip me. I am completely smeggin' ungrippethéd
Just read that because of Mecca's new store in Bourke St grand opening, they are shutting down trams going through the Bourke St mall from Russell to Swanston st for four hours on Friday 8 August. I find that pretty appalling they'd do that for a shitty retail store opening
I remember also reading about their sales regularly having expired products for sale 🤮
i will fucking PISH if no one shows up
I'm not sure appalled is a proportionate emotion? Though it's been a rough week for commuters.
I hope everyone will be choosing their waterproof mascara though, could be quite cold and wet.
Yeah, gutting that public amenity and infrastructure once again takes second place to private corporate interests. I kinda think the public should find out what Mecca paid in compensation to shut down a section of PT for their own profit.
Reminder for people with moles and just any spots on their skin to get a skin check or at least check your skin regularly! Even a pimple looking thing that doesn't go away could be something.
Aerogard heavy duty 40% deet picked up yesterday. Not cheap though. 150g 20$ did about 3sqm
Exhibit A. 1 minute after exposure:
B. 45 minutes later (!)
Also lemons (they don't deserve DOOOM)
I think I'm honestly sold on this idea.
Just checked the train replacements on the Mernda/Hurstbridge line. Bus replacements until last service SUNDAY 20/7!!!! Must be one hell of a fault at Clifton Hill. link I reckon it'll last longer than that though.
I haven't watched it but I saw this train youtuber video about it https://youtu.be/s0Wq20-glcY
Work week ceebs have hit a day earlier than usual.
WFH rest of the week, but the willingness is disappearing
okay guys, see you soon , just leaving for the big drive then flight
enjoy the rest of teh day 😘🤗
Safe travels, Goonsie!!! Catchya on the other side! Thanks for sharing you lovely holiday with us all!
Have a safe trip!
You've inspired me to look more closely for shells on the beach. All I've ever found is seaweed and rocks lol.
Safe flight
Hope to hear from you soon. Safe travels back!
Oh my god. Stovetop coffee made and it’s fruity and delicious.
I’m in heaven!
My significant win this week is that my hair is looking..actually good. Simple chunky bob for the win. 💇
Nice hair can make a big difference to how you feel! My hair is butt length and an absolute PITA, but when it's shiny and behaving, I love it. However, now that I'm swimming 3 x week, I'm thinking about lopping it off.
The bob is underrated
Picking up a 7 string guitar today. Haven't had one before. Going to sound heavy as fuck!!!
Also fuck work today lol
Tune down to drop A for maximum djonk.
I've also found 7 string sets weirdly light for the type of guitar they go on
It's in drop a flat lol
I did not know 7 string was an option. TIL
They can go down to 9 these days. There's ones that have even more range sometimes too
It allows for a much lower in tone tuning which works really well for heavier music.
It sounds like an odd mix of percussive and melodic.
I was giving death stares to a person taking a very long phone call in the open plan area at co-working, pacing around outside of their office so as to not bother their staff but instead bothering everyone in the open plan area including myself (make it make sense). Doesn't use the phone / scream booths right in front of him. Anyway, he finally got the message from my death stares and said "sorry" and went back into his office to finish the call. That's my win for the day.
Lovely coffee catch up with friend. Now I’m just dawdling along building a model
Haircut achieved while sun was out.
I feel liberated!
Sometimes I find old notes and think wtf was that about. 🚮
This reminds me of the Big Laundry joke from Phineas and Ferb
I found some stuff clearing out a cupboard recently that I wrote back when I was having mental health issues quite a few years ago.. Jesus Christ 🤦🏼♀️
so many hugs
Oh dear.
all the time ...lol
Got today and tomorrow off work to spend with Minipeelers. Also I have a parcel to collect 😃I think my balaclava/hood things have arrived (I love those things; I wear them in scarf/snood mode during the day to keep my neck warm and make my apron sit correctly, and pull up the hood if it's extra cold or raining. It's been a winter game changer for me). What to do? I know they want to go to Melbourne Central on one day and an art supply shop at some point. Art supply shops are expensive tho, and I usually wing it with $2 shops where I can get small canvasses and acrylic paints for a fraction of the price.
There's a Daiso at Highpoint.
There is, dang it I could've wandered in for a look last week. I hit the wall after a few hours there and just herded the kids out as quickly as was practicable lol.
Multiple actualNazi documents including Wolfsbane bullets for executions. Think I'll take a very long lunch.
hugs
( I saw a woman wearing a nazi tshirt yesterday, even in this tiny rural NZ town , i was sad and shocked/not shocked )
Thanks. For people who want trigger/content warnings on everything: consider that somebody has to look at it to do so.
Really digging this song at the moment
nearly finished packing, just got to weigh my bags, I think I should be under the limit
I always wondered about luggage weight limits.. I mean, they don't apply them to people do they? The difference in weight between Mr P and myself is one of our children 😆
😂 no they don't. I have found that if the flight is running late on time they're less likely to weigh bags.
I've seen people panic and root through bags when that little weighy thing comes out.
I often wonder that.
Early start tomorrow. I'll probably take the bike to work so I won't fully get to experience the change in traffic, but it will be interesting to see what it's like riding then as well
ugh. Time to climb mount washmore. Since we lost the old place now I have to calculate loads based on best amount of line drying time instead of just flinging it under the carport. Annoying.
I have a bit of a hybrid situation. I mostly have to keep an eye on the weather, but have room under cover for a clothes airer to do a small amount. But if it's too windy/rainy the rain comes in sideways, and there is not enough room for sheets and things.
I am liking being able to line dry outside though, where I was didn't really have any good drying space and I would dry it indoors on airers. It just smells better when it's been outside, the movement from the wind makes the towels softer, and the wind also carries away more of the dog hair and fluff etc. so I think it ends up cleaner. I've contemplated getting a dryer, but I think I'd prefer to stick to line drying if I can keep managing it.
I have an indoor clothesline + hanger space + clothes horse, but honestly, if you're talking pants and sheets and towels, you want them to flap majestically in the breeze.
I just hang it all on racks in the lounge room. It’s rather cluttered and any surprise guests get to see my undies, but I figure I’m saving money. The heater warms me and dries the clothes at the same time
I put in a rail in the laundry for hanging shirts on hangers, nice and out of the way. Pull out line in the cupboard sliiightly more annoying, but rarely used. Rest of stuffs tend to go on clotheshorse over the bedroom vent, but I do like to flap my jeans majestically in the wind
I really hate waking up in the dark. I think it affects my mood. Need a blue sky day.
Same. But then there was blue sky yesterday afternoon and I couldn't even drag myself out to enjoy it.
Makes me think it’s still early when it’s dark and I haven’t woken up yet.
Unfortunately the time doesn’t quite match.
Best I can do
Love it
Yello
Good morning AJ
👋🏼
Dog pee found over two days count - 10
I left him alone last night for a couple of hours and was told that he kept setting off the cameras barking. When I got home, he was eating the treat I gave him when I left the house. I think it is a separation anxiety problem.
So that means he pissed less last night right?
Definitely think it's separation anxiety.
Yep he "only" pissed twice last night.
Once when I was out, and once when I was home, but asleep.
even tho i had a nightmare of sorts, bad stuff but i figured it out and got away, I have woken up refreshed, not in pain from my back and happy even . I imagine this is how normal people live.
Hugs. Enjoy the moment of calm. You deserve it.

I got the email to say that my certificate will be ready in a couple of weeks, and that I've met all the requirements (paid up, passed all modules, etc). Then I can include it with my applications instead of just saying "I passed! I swear! Pinky promise!"
Workforce is on to me though, and wants me to find a job service provider. I've heard so many horror stories I don't even know where to start. And I'm still limited by only having my learner's license, I'm still saving up to buy a bunch of bulk lessons. That's all a morning problem though lol.
It might be worth cross referencing available providers with local Google reviews. Maybe stick with the bigger places as well as working with Centrelink is just another NDIS level grift. My brother in law was with a provider and I swear it took him a year to find a job so no rush if you find a decent place
lol just reading on the other place gardeningaustralia someone battling oxalis.
I'm not telling them my instruments of DOOOOOM!
Funnily enough the biggest sustainable doom instrument is just mulch heh.
e: that's not to say I'm not struggling too, running around the place w/ insecticide is weird.
Don’t have a flamethrower but I’m pinching your aeroguard idea. Interestingly enough I had used mulch in the past, before I realised how big a problem it was (the oxalis that is). That didn’t work, but the birds were happy scratching it everywhere
Grrrr got my tax return back and as expected, my bloody super deduction is not available and I owe them a huge chunk now AND I'm out of pocket for the substantial amount I deposited... guess I will have to make those phone calls when it's 8am. Not happy Jan. I foresee a lot of "no you need to contact ATO!", "no you need to contact your super fund!" back and forth...
E: and it's been three hours now, 4:30am and I can't get back to sleep. Do they put something in these pizzas?
Grrr indeed. Good luck with your obnoxious adulting tasks.
Oh no that's so annoying 😭
24 minute wait to get a call back then a 15 minute call from the ATO done, now on hold with the super fund with three callers ahead of me in the queue... blaaah.... At least the ATO staff member was super helpful and escalated my issue but she did say the super fund still needs to report the contribution before anything can be processed. I have Words for the super fund about not being clear regarding how soon they send contribution info to the ATO
'ang on, they can't file your return without your auth, can they?
I filed the return myself, followed all the instructions to a tee, turns out my super fund is not being very truthful or clear about how quickly they then send that info to the ATO.
I am guessing the tax return was filed before the notice of intent to claim the super was done. You can't claim Super as a deduction on your tax return until the Super fund has taken out the 15% tax and processed it as a concessional contribution.
I just want to read for a bit before bed, and yet, there is only judgement.
Goodnight all ❤️
