My favorite scrubs fact is that none of the streaming platforms can get the rights to the indie music Zack Braff shoved into all the final scenes so they replaced them all with generic open source songs which really hurts the quality.

You’ll also find most streaming sites turn the 4:3 into 16:9 by chopping off the top and bottom of the frame.

Hollywood, listen. When something old was really good and you want to make more money off of it, take the idea that made it good and stop reviving the dead just to be surprised that it sucks.

A new scrubs with a completely different set of people and story with just the key idea there would actually be awesome. Just remember how well the last season was accepted 😒

Right there with you, after what they did with the season that doesn't exist (season 9, I refuse to acknowledge it) I don't trust them with this property. The whole appeal of the show was JD and Turk's growth, and of course the Cox rants. Also what's the point without Ted.

If you’d have read Bill Lawrence’s interview on the subject, you’d know that’s this isn’t about money. And I’d trust the guy who created Ted Lasso and shrinking to do what it takes to make this worth watching.

  But honestly, Bill Lawrence has single-handedly built up the comedydrama side of Apple TV+. Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Bad Monkey... All great shows. And I don't even care about football normally.
  I'll take this one with a grain of salt instead of the usual salt mountain. It's still a reboot. But it looks like they're also getting at least some of the other cast members back too. Mostly I'm hoping for Cox and Kelso. Carla and Janitor are apparently semi-confirmed? And I think Jordan is more or less confirmed considering the actress is literally married to Bill Lawrence and actively takes part in his projects.

- I don’t remember specifics but when Kickstarter was in its infancy Zach Braff had a couple kickstarters for his movies. They weren’t themselves offensive. It’s just that using a crowdfunding platform which, at the time at least, were mostly for people who had zero access to capital when you’re a multimillionaire with Hollywood connections to capital is a bit gauche.

Scrubs was a special show. Some times woke and some times a product if it's times. Meaning gay jokes cause guys hug. Super fun and then they hit you with that real real. Sorry Dr Kelso is so mean because he needs to keep this big ship running. It doesn't work out good all the time but he tries.

I liked the later seasons when Dr Cox was in charge and when he went through his alcohol problems. I even like the last season. It was different but it was still a good show.

Came here to say something similar. I always have mixed feelings on Scrubs for similar reasons to you. I genuinely can't go back and rewatch most episodes because they are incredibly dated or insensitive in many respects. The good parts are still good, the great parts are still great, but the bad parts feel really bad IMO, and it really kills a lot of rewatch potential for me, despite having loved watching seasons 1-5 when it was originally airing. It was one of my favorite shows for years.
I can definitely watch older stuff and understand it's a product of its time, but Scrubs in particular has me cringing by 5 minutes into the episode; I can't get through the rest of the episode most of the time. I end up skipping around to watch the scenes I know I like. I ain't got time to sit around watchin' The Todd harass people or Kelso make his usual "wife bad" jokes.
What a soundtrack, though. One of the better soundtracks of any show I've watched.

It’s not an assumption. Lots of kids your age don’t know about our stuff and that’s fine! The same was true when we were kids.
A large number of gen x and millennials seems to have grown up to have a "this is how the adults acted when I was a kid, so its only fair for me to shit on kids now", and its disgusting.

I know what it is because my mom used to watch it. I thought it looked stupid. She also watched Reno 911 which looked way funnier.

I'm GenX and I agree that Reno 911 is 100x funnier, never got Scrubs the drama comedy mix was too weird. Yeah we get it your friendship is so great and cute and you hate the janitor.

What do you define as late millennial? Because as someone born toward the tail end of the millennials I feel like while I didn’t personally watch it on tv I heard about it a ton and then as an adult I did a binge watch of it

Yeah that makes sense, the biggest crowd that watched it was probably the Millennials born 1981-1992. By the time I started watching it, I was in high school & it was wrapping up. But some of my cousins were in college when it came out.

Man, I hope it's good. Scrubs is my favorite non-scifi show. I want to buy the whole thing on bluray/dvd but right now I can't find the whole thing. Some people, when you say "Eagle," think the bird. Some people think "USA". I think about Turk and JD.

I wish they would do an HD release of the show. NBC only ordered it as an SD show for most of the series, because that was the era of the transition and only some shows were ordered for HD and budgeted to use the HD production equipment. The Director of Photography shot the whole thing on 16mm film, though, and framed everything so there was a 16x9 safe shot in case they ever went back to upgrade it for syndication or home release. “All” it would take is re-scanning the original film into HD and taking the edit list from the original version and applying it to the same timecode.

Strongly disagree. Scrubs is one of my two favorite shows. It’s a brilliant example of dramedy. Showrunner Bill Lawrence is a master of the genre.
But obviously this is a matter of opinion.
- I get a similar feeling from the office (both versions). Just a feeling of contempt for all the characters and disinterest towards the plot.

I wish I had the fond memories for this show that others do. My sibling wanted to get into medicine and would binge medical shows at home all the time. This was the first one. A few episodes is fine. But having this run 8 hours a day non-stop just made me hate this show. It’s way too formulaic to binge like that.

I don’t think there are many shows I can take more than 4 episodes at one time. I remember visiting my cousin, and when I was leaving we watched Arrested Development until it was time to go to the airport. I found it funny and was enjoying it, but by hour 3 I was done and have never been able to get into it since.

I never liked this sitcom and prefer the British "Green Wing" instead.

Never seen it but now you've peaked my curiosity! I grew up on scrubs so I don't really have much of a reference point for other shows. Although I've heard "The Pitt" is good.

I'm with the girl on this one. I barely remember that show. I hate shows like that. I didn't like St elsewhere. When it was on I was always elsewhere.

TV shows I never watch are anything glorifying the health care industry.

I got a different impression from Scrubs. To me it was a show mostly about doctors, and whenever it did talk about the healthcare industry, it was largely critical. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember they would frequently criticize the bullshit and red tape in the healthcare industry. I think there's even an episode in the first season where they commit insurance fraud to save a poor patient.

- Yeah doctors largely want to help people... Scrubs did a great job of portraying the human side of doctors and how they get squeezed in the middle of wanting to provide the best care and the healthcare industry's desire to profit at all costs.

Scrum is a way of working on projects as a team with a defined set of meetings and procedures. All companies I've worked at so far were claiming they use it but none of them actually did.
Scrubs on the other hand was THE Sitcom while I was a teenager. One of my best friends was annoying everyone with citing stuff from it all the fucking time.
But they already tried to extend it with "Scrubs meets school" and the reception was horrible so I'm a bit confused that they want to give it another try...
