It's my last day with sox, and I feel sad that I must peel myself away to go work on the thesis of doom. Rather than spend a goblin mode day with her cuddled up on the oodie watching dumb shit and tossing snacks around the room for her

- Since you demanded so nicely, here's a couple of blurry mediocre shots from last night when I got home late and was crouched on my knees on the couch, which was an invitation for sox to jump onto my back and park herself there for a minute

- It depends a lot on her human who is... Kind of flaky tbh. He's got a good heart but his life is in a bit of a shambles of his own creation atm. At a crossroads where I think he's very tempted to sell up what he has and float around; sox is the only real commitment he has tying him to one place...
  If it came to it, I'd seriously consider adopting her but not for quite a while yet as I intend to end my lease and put my stuff in storage for a bit while I figure myself out before I come back and have more of a plan for how to secure my own home (if it's at all possible).

Just went to a local shopping centre and got my fix of food court Chinese food, love it. Also unashamedly purchased a pair of Kmart trackies for each family member. They are unfortunately all the same shade of darkish grey ($8). Hey, the men's cheap trackies are cheaper, thicker and warmer, and come in more serviceable colours than the ones in the women's section, so 4 pairs of men's trackies in varying sizes it was. I am a bogan.

Better to be warm and comfy!! What's your go to plate? I'm a sucker for a sweet n sour pork, but my local place does a bangin' beef satay.

- Crumpet toast is like stale bread x a kitchen sponge but when you toast it and add butter, all the butter soaks in and it's divine.

You have a lot of understanding and compassion for your parents, especially your father. It's hard to see how hurtful and unhelpful parents can be when you still live with them. But I don't agree with how you father communicates his concerns.
I would encourage you to explore options on leaving that house, it honestly doesn't sound like being there is helping you at all. Re-read what you wrote and pretend you were talking about your close friend or daughter - you'd tell them to get out.

That damper was unreal. I've never done it in foil and straight into the fire. I've done it heaps of times in the camp oven and in oranges.

yay, I have finished the painting. Now just to do to two more drawer liners, buff the paint with some brown paper to get the sheen patterns off and then tidy up. 😊

fuck, that was not an easy job, I first spent a week cleaning 70 years of yellow gunk from smoke from all the furniture, sanded everything, then had to do four coats to cover the white enamel. I also repainted the brass drawer handles in a silver gold paint . It might take a month for all the paint to fully cure.

I have wrecked two pairs of jeans with paint and my new slippers, luckily they were old jeans and cheap slips.

My new desk is huge but then I remembered I got it to do art work on , for big pieces of paper, so that's cool. Think I'll repolish it before I use it. 😊

Ugh. Dark circles. I’m wondering if it’s worth trying to buy a concealer or something.

As someone with very prominent genetic dark circles that never really covers them up because they look ashy with concealer and I'm too lazy to colour correct:
what is the point of concealing them? I think the circles kind of make me look sick, but if people are offended by that, that's their problem. I simply don't have enough spoons most of the time.
is a free smoky eye (you can turn it into a smoky eye somehow apparently)
could be a good idea to determine if they're genetic or something else like a vitamin deficiency. Unfortunately genetic ones you can't really get rid of or so I've heard?
get a concealer that matches your skin tone as lighter ones, which are commonly used in the beauty community, can look a bit unnatural
colour correct with a salmon, peach, or red colour corrector depending on the colour of your circles. Vary the lightness (I know this is the wrong art word) of the colour according to your skin tone.

They're open to it, so I'll have to put some things together and figure out a date.

Aaaargh, I was a doofus and forgot to transfer voluntary contributions to my super via BPay before 4pm Friday (received a crucial sum only on Thursday night but there was still enough time...)

Deadline for the super fund to receive it is Tuesday 4pm, fingers crossed on Monday it goes through on the day itself. I will be nervously checking and calling on Monday and be really kicking myself in the pants if it turns out I've just missed it and lost out claiming it this FY...

They're probably being overly cautious with the deadline. I work at a super fund and we're telling people to pay it before end of the day Monday. Realistically though, I'd say most transfers made by Wednesday are probably going to be okay. (This is not advice, make your contributions ASAP people!)
