Turtle Shells
I'm not inside my skin. I am my skin.
You're a bundle of neurons piloting a skeleton inside a wetsuit
When you're in a Jaeger, you can fight the hurricane.
I am not up my ass. I am my ass.
I'm up your ass tho.
Now give me some sugar water
Yeah? Then explain this, mister scientist
This is just yet another example of legacy media lying to us.
So my head is not "inside" my skull but is my skull? Is the brain not a part of my head?
What part of you makes you? Is it just your brain?
Anyway, I think what they're getting at is that the shell is actually their spine, not like some extra thing that grows on top of their spine.
Idk I see a big cavity that would contain turtle...
Yes, that's for pregnant turtles.
I feel like an annual reminder would be entirely sufficient, to be honest.
I'd like to know who needs a daily reminder.
Also, please do not move turtles unless they are immediately in danger or in your way. They're probably fine and just goofing around (laying eggs, moving, or looking for food).
That's tortoise silly billy
Turtoises are turtles ya dingbat

All tortoises are turtles, umm.. pedantic Frederick?
Domed, exoskeleton, this is a beetle.
It's not an exoskeleton though. Those are ribs and a spine, covered in "scutes", which are kind of horn-like scales.
Insufficient legs
who should i trust? Nintendo or a random person on the Internet?
Those are koopa troopas. They're turtle-like, but not actual turtles.
I learned from Franklin books and Mario games that you're wrong. A picture showing a clear cavity where a turtle could pop out won't convince me!
Please don't tap/knock on turtle shells. It would be like someone knocking directly on your bones.
My bones are not weak, they can take it.
Your bones are not weak but its still not a good excuse to abuse a turtle by knocking on its shell.
Surviving and getting pissed off are totally different things that can happen at the same time...
That's really easy to do, knock on your head. There's just a thin layer of skin over the bone.
That's neat and all. But how do they retract their heads?
And feet, especially box turtles. Some species can indeed go inside their shells - while still being a part of the shell itself, of course.
Kinda looks like those vertical bones are part of a hinge joint.
They can feel touch through their shells
What about ninja turtles?
"Turtle" can refer to both land and marine testudines
The English language makes this way too complicated. Just call all of them 'shield toads' and you're good.
That depends on your flavour of English. See Wikipedia
I see no brain in this picture.
I want to get him out though.
That's illegal, if I were to be a dictator! Look, if were to be a Dictator of the World, there would be only one overarching Law: If Turtles decide to go out of their shells, they shall leave a little sign around that says "out for lunch" or something equally thoughtful.
Wait, what? I'm wrapped around my skeleton?
Queue Edgar Allen Poe
Wait so they can't get out of their shells? But...
"You know, there's good eating in them things."
the hollow space contains treasure
Then explain this photograph.
