- These people only care about bad things when those bad things happen to them. They cannot, or won't let themselves, conceive of pain unless they themselves are feeling it. They have no empathy, or if they do, they allow their hate to override it, to shape it into something horrible, like pleasure in another's suffering.

Imagine thinking you have authority over your children's sexuality and gender. That would be kind of a pro-abortion argument tho.
- Why imagine? That's exactly what they think. And abortion can be dismissed as going against God, whereas conversion therapy is just correcting their gay kids.
- In the conservative household children do not have agency. They are simply the father's progeny, and are expected to carry on their ideals and generally act in ways that please them.

- Hell atheist make God in their own image. I see so many atheist biblical scholars insist that Jesus believed the same thing they do. Compare Erhman's pacifist politics to the politics he claims Jesus stood for. Despite the historical Jesus, assuming he existed, being a Messianic Jew who would have known that the kingdom of heaven was coming through blood.
  I read an atheist scholar on Greek who insisted that the historical Jesus was trying to introduce Greek thought into Judaism. Despite the fact that the historical Jesus would have been illiterate and living in a culture with strict taboos against learning anything Greek. And it's far more likely that Greek writers later on inserted that stuff in.

I don't know how you define "hate," but by most criteria, the god of the Old Testament was an evil piece of shit.

What part of what they are saying doesn't align with the Bible?
- The parts they skip regarding loving thy neighbor and some part about baring false witness against thy neighbor? The part where Jesus hung out with those who were considered sinners and loved them, he preached to turn to God but he didn’t actively try and fuck them over? How about not worshipping others over God (like Drumpf)? How about the part where it talks about performing how to perform abortion (not the way we should, but it doesn’t list fetuses as being humans to save)? How about the part where God is the one judging humanity (not sure he left a clause allowing humans to pre-judge)?
  There’s probably more, but I am not religious. The moral here is, God gets to have say - not bum fucks who interpret his word. Bum fuck’s job is to talk him up on the mortal plane before he gets tired of his science experiments and wipes us all out.

I have a flag inside an upstairs window but between the window and the shades so everyone walking down the street can see it. It's been there for over a year. Anybody with a problem will get laughed off the property. Anybody who continues to have a problem will test our Stand Your Ground laws.

No matter whether it's gay pride, personal pride, or national pride, Republicans want to set it on fire.

It really shows how small minded conservatives are. They have no hobbies or interests other than being obnoxious. I've never seen one of them say anything remotely intelligent and they contribute nothing but pain to civilization. It's unfortunate COVID didn't take more of them out.

I bought a bunch of little pride flags to stick in the ground around the neighborhood and a banner for my front yard when I saw this a couple days ago. Fortunately I live in a great city for queer folk, but you go just a mile north or east of here and it gets ugly pretty fast.

I visited Colorado ~4 years ago. I remember thinking the people in Denver were impressively nice, especially us being from Florida. But, once we got to our Airbnb a few miles outside of the city, things were different. The Airbnb owner, while still nice enough to meet with and welcome us to his property, just had to talk about politics. It was that victim complex where he was being told what to do by the liberals and blah blah blah... One of the ways he was getting back at them was by encouraging all visitors to feed the wild deer, something that was allegedly made illegal by liberals to control him. Maybe he thought we would care about his politics and even agree with him because we were light-skinned from Florida, I was in the military, and my traveling partner was a cop, but we had far left political views and never asked him to begin with. It made us not want to talk to him anymore.
- Yeesh. Colorado has a lot of rural space with a lot of folks who think like that. The borders between the liberal city/college types and the MAGA country types can be pretty thin.
It's actually genius to find a bigot and just stick one pride flag in their yard every day to drive them nuts.
- We have One Particular Family who ran Trump and Tina Peters campaign yard signs for months back in the day, but who have conspicuously shut the fuck up since all the convictions and such. Their back yard butts up to public space where I plan on dropping at least one. I won't mess with their private property, but I will put a flag down behind their house.

So they are OK with "willful destruction of other peoples' property"? That could lead to interesting conclusions...

They also like a flag that says GAY=Got AIDS Yet?
I hate every conservative with a passion and the world would be better off without them.

How anyone can be member of the LGBTQ community and a member of the Republican Party at the same time is beyond me.
