The above response is kinda the wrong angle, but I can't see why a bank is not allowed to deny a loan to someone who is not a citizen. If you by definition do not have legal right to live here, I don't get why a bank is required to loan you money to buy a home. When you can be gone and out of the country a week later. I get maybe some are willing to loan to them, but not allowing them to deny it is kinda insane. I can't believe they legally are even allowed to buy a home.

You must be young. Because Republicans will vote for a criminal before they vote for "communism". Because the Republicans attempt to destroy the educational system to keep people dumb enough to vote for them has worked. Because dispite the corporate media pandering and acting like they want Harris Because that's what their viewers want, their billionaire owners don't. They want the republican led centrist enabled tax breaks on their money. Harris has also brought in the progressives which have zero tolerance for the centrist mindset. She is in a situation where she has to dance a dance of trying to reel in the progressives even though they are going to throw a fit when she panders to the centrists and the corporate overlords.

The system is made and controlled by the billionaires. No hard progressive that doesn't play the game a little is going to get elected... right now. They will destroy anyone that threatens their billions. Everytime she goes a little too hard left they throw a fit.

That was the worst. I loved it.

I was once working a construction job with my buddy who was starting his business. He's my age, but acts like he's 60. We were bullshitting on the job and I told him how my kid Rick rolled me. He had no clue what the fuck I was talking about. I tried to explain it to him and he just didn't get it. Fast forward a few weeks and we were in the market for some scaffolding. Doing research trying to find the best place to buy it. I used a link changer site so it didn't look like youtube and said, "Check out these scaffolding planks, best price I've found" and sent him the link. He text me back 5 minutes later like WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!!! I said YOU JUST GOT FUCKN RICK ROLLED BITCH. Then he got it. Problem is, I think he liked it.

I missread that as "ruining".

I feel like it is a story as old as time and not isolated to Boeing. I am pretty sure all companies that are publicly traded have a legal obligation to maximize stockholder return, it's why most companies go to shit eventually. They may be able to frame making better decisions as an investment into future returns, but they are legally obligated to maximize returns. Boeing just did it while also being propped up by federal contracts where holding them accountable for the decline in quality and changing vendors was above everyone's pay grade. End stage capitalism combined with good old boy government contracts = astronauts stuck on the space station. Boeing has been a powerhouse of profit for 50+ years before it crumbled, that is the entire adult life of a boomer. And we all know Boomers don't give a shit about the next generation. So it served its purpose.

Unless these chemicals are extremely likely to cause cancer, it is probably the least cancerous thing on our gear. It's usually covered in soot and all kinds of nasty shit. We make a huge effort to keep them out of the cab of the truck, wash them everytime they get used, and we don't just hang out in them because of the carcinogens that get on them from use. Also, a firefighter smoking is not as common as it used to be. Far less than most other fields. Our job requires us to be in great cardiovascular condition and the few smokers get chastised for it. The culture has drifted away from being a smoke eater, we take tons of preventative measures to keep the cancer out of our bodies, but we know it's still likely going to happen.

Well, I was under the impression that the presidential elections were done by prescients, and mine voted 75% for Trump in 2020. I was so sure about this I spent the last hour trying to find some confirmation bias article, and I was only met with a billion sources saying AZ is a popular vote with winner takes all. I chose to blame the way the media presents election results by prescients and my apparently minimal knowledge of gerrymandering for my gross misunderstanding of how this all works. Luckily, I have still voted in every election despite thinking my (presidential) vote was wasted.

So, a total of a likely swing is about 0.333% to the red, Trump lost by 0.3% vs. Biden. If everything was equal, it would be a recount. Hopefully, Kamala brings more enthusiasm, and Trump dies off. I live in rural Arizona, my presidential vote never counts anyways, but I will say there are the same old Trumpers, but unlike the past 2 elections I now talk to a lot of apathetic Republicans that used to be vote red no matter who people. They are over Trump, they won't vote against him, but they may not even vote. That is something I've never seen.

So get out and vote and maybe we can vote in numbers too large to manipulate.

Well, Trump will be much much worse? I get putting political pressure on her to take a hard stance on the issue, and don't compromise on your values, but the blue MAGA shit is absurd. She can't take a hard stance on it, she has to play politics. She is definitely better than the alternative, although I hate the idea of voting for the less evil, evil is evil. There is no middling.

This is all from Bernie waking a generation up and opening their eyes to what could be. It's been over 8 years since he first ran and got into the spotlight. Millennials woke up, and saw that there is another option, now a lot of their children are of voting age in a generation that doesn't listen to 24 hour news cycles that just fear monger, they aren't scared of the immigrants or trans people. Bernie may not have been elected but he pushed generations to realize how fucked we are and that their is something to do about it. He pushed Harris to pick Walz. He mobilized the grassroots that have now hitched up to Kamalas wagon. Hopefully, things keep trending the way they look like they are. Bernie has done more good already than any president in my lifetime. Even if he hasn't made massive policy change, he made a few generations become sentient and numbers are what we need.

Loudly, from the roof tops, "I accept your debate at ABC" Make him decline again.

I get that being trapped in a tube that is essentially a tiny little bubble of habitable area in the vast, hostile, emptiness of space can already be super claustrophobia inducing and they are vetted and trained for that. But it seems once you are up there and you realize the world's leaders in space, and the people that sent you can't figure out how to get you home, that would trigger that panic in anyone. If there is an emergency you have no escape and there is no rescue coming.
