  • Let's not let women or black people vote either /s

It's fine, just because you want a killing machine doesn't mean you or anyone else is entitled to it. Guns in 1776 were a little different than what we got now. I like guns and I think they're neat, but the proof is in the pudding. They're doing more harm than good.

  • Hey I'm not super into politics, but maybe we should look into banning guns ¯(ツ)_/¯

If you need one for hunting or varmint control there can be a special license for that but you gotta admit we got a little problem with guns in America.

I have guns but if the day comes where they're banned fuck it I'll turn em in if that helps us move past daily mass shootings.

  • Hey thanks for the detailed write up I think I'll try to set it up this weekend. Just so you know you're not shouting into the void, I'm running RTX 2080 on windows and I have some experience setting up venv in Python :)

The only thing I'm not familiar with is Linux if that's required but I can probably set up a VM or dual boot, I'm overdue for learning anyway!

  • Lol should I chant to myself when walking my dog? "I have a gun, I have a gun, I have a gun"

In most cases it IS a benign object. Other than the occasional shooting range it doesn't leave the holster, I've never had to draw it, I've never shot it outside of the range. I put it on without thinking about it, it stays on my waist where nobody can see it, I don't feel it there unless I think about it.

Agree to disagree I guess, if you wear something every day and forget it's there that makes you human not an irresponsible person. Unless you forget about it and enter say... and airport terminal, then you're a dumbass.

  • Does the average person carry a wallet with their cash, credit cards, and ID? It's pretty important but 99% of the time you don't think about it. Or keys to their house?

If a gun is on you almost all the time, you don't really notice it until it's NOT there, then it's time for concern.

It's an important item to keep track of but like a wallet it's "not there" until you either need it or it's not there when checking for it.

  • I do this but I drive to work and sit in my car until 8:05.

It takes so much energy to get moving j need serious consequences to motivate myself to work towards the door.

Edit: I don't even hate my job I'm just so tired. There's never enough time to do everything so when it's morning I know I gotta deal with all the bullshit I didn't finish the day before so I can start some fresh bullshit.

  • Lol I agree, but its hard to explain to people who aren't around guns that you can forget there's a loaded deadly weapon on your belt. It's very uncomfy and seemingly dangerous at first but after a few months or years it's like a wallet but you typically use it 0 times a day. You don't really realize it's there, more than once I started walking to something that doesn't allow guns and had to go back to my car to lock it up.

    It happens.

But airports, especially intl terminals is pretty unexcusable.

  • This only really tracks if you're vegan, which you may be. But if we slaughter a million pigs for meat is that really any different? We already incubate them for bacon, are you really so against this that you'd let a family member die than slaughter a pig for its heart?
