  • I would spin off the events and community pages parts into a separate app and close Facebook. I don't care what people I went to school with are doing or what their kid is up to.

I would also stop the massive data hoarding and go back to basics. Keep what's necessary only.

  • It's used at festivals - put some under your nose and the portaloos aren't so bad

  • Likewise. They may not work for everyone but it can have a huge impact for those who do

  • Not sure if they have them in the USA but I feel like things like this should be free votes rather than across party lines. It's a conscience thing more than anything. I personally think by using them you're just escalating things and it very well could end up causing more harm than good.

  • I find it easier to rewatch something than expend the mental energy on something new, so I rewatch a lot. Buffy, Stargate SG-1 and Taskmaster are the ones I rewatch the most.

  • What is blender for? I would Google it but I imagine it would mainly be kitchen accessories

  • I meant as in it's an inquiry not a criminal case, so wasn't sure how much they could compel someone to release it. If the law is applicable though then yeah it's not a good look for the government not to be seen to enforce it.

  • Would that apply in this kind of thing? I.e it's not a criminal matter

  • Your initial comment referenced what the unions said, so it follows that @amanneedsamaid may reasonably assume that's what you were asking about (initially anyway). Not the ruling by the judge itself.

Either way it didn't need to become an argument. Can we try and be better than Reddit?

  • Saw some people say it's a trap the government have set up for Labour, knowing they'll lose the election.

  • I find it distasteful myself but it is this kind of thing that may change people's minds (which is what we need to get rid of the Tories).

  • We need so much more social housing. The fact that someone vulnerable is unable to be housed in social housing in the area speaks to how much of a shortage there is. I would have thought in terms of banding he would be right up there.

  • When I'm singing in a choir, surrounded by other people all singing with one voice. Especially in a large building with great acoustics. That's what beauty is to me- even when I've been at my lowest I've always had choral singing keep me going.

  • Thankfully this summer in the UK hasn't been as bad as last year. I hate the heat but there's been lots of rain which is nice. The humidity is what gets to me the most.

  • The users are having a 'Crab day' where everyone gives each other crabs to try and help boost the finances. Will be interesting to see if it has an impact

  • Yeah I think the general aim of these things is to increase the diversity of STEM, which has tended to be male dominated. I imagine that's what the funding for these schemes is allocated for. Not being mansplained by some guys is probably a bonus

  • That's a Scottish word really. I know it's in the UK obviously but it feels distinctly Scottish. Sounds best with a Scottish accent

  • To an extent, but tabloid culture is still so embedded in the UK that it's hard to avoid (though thankfully it's slowly getting better)
