  • True but in parts of the world completely isolated from others? India in comparison to South America as an example.

  • I think something cataclysmic happened during the Younger Dryas period and we may never know what but it's not coincidence there are multiple flood myths that evolved independently. Also, I think humans have been around longer than we realize and we're in another iteration of the same course of evolution waiting to get out of our Fermi loop.

  • They truly did get what they asked for and I don't mean now but decades on decades in th making.

They're run by a rube. A charlatan. A bigot. A liar. A racist. A man with no morals. A man with no God above the Almighty dollar.

    This is America.

Many people have stated this, but the good that came from Trump is now it's all laid bare. They are no longer hiding who they are.

    This is America.

  • Carney does not run the CMHC. Your point may still be valid but in this context he did not make this decision.

  • I bet it slows down the idiot software developers more than anything.

Everything can be broken into smaller easily defined chunks and for that AI is amazing.

Give me a function in Python that if I provide it a string of XYZ it will provide me an array of ABC.

The trick is knowing how it fits in your larger codebase. That's where your developer skill is. It's no different now than it was when coding was offshored to India. We replaced Ravinder with ChatGPT.

Edit - what I hate about AI is the blatant lying. I asked it for some ServiceNow code Friday and it told me to use the sys_audit_report table which doesn't exist. I told it so and then it gave me the sys_audit table.

The future will be those who are smart enough to know when AI is lying and know how to fix it when it is. Ideally you are using AI for code you can do, you just don't want to. At least that's my experience. In that, it's invaluable.

  • Nope just the ADD.

Celtics are basketball and my first love of a team before Toronto got The Raptors. That said their fambase is kinda toxic.

  • You are not fucking serious.

    What kind of gun? Lol

  • I see you also like to poke the bear lol. Seriously with me no topic is off limit I'll challenge every opinion someone has doesn't mean I disagree with it.

Also Boston Celtics are no? Because Boston is racist AF?

  • Oh man this is years ago but my ex used to watch it (may still no idea) and when that plotline with Katherine hegl and her ghost husband was happening I remember lifting my head from my laptop and going "wait what?!" And then laughing my ass off.

  • Fun story. I once put my car on a site called lease busters because my ex and I were looking to get a bigger vehicle and there was 3 years left on the lease.

It's long lost to time but I had a dude message me saying he would be willing to take the lease but said I could keep the car and insurance under my name.

Like what in the absolute fuck?!

  • So I wanted to have 9 kids but ended up finishing out at 3. So technically a savings of 6 kids! I'm helping the environment!

Being pedantic a nebulous "having one fewer kid" means nothing unless there's a benchmark. I think they mean "having one fewer kid as a country average" so if the average Canadian has 1.26 children per women we want to see it .26 per women.

On an individual level I can't unalive a child.

  • Forget that. They think one out of their first 3 friends they have is gay. Assuming they're straight that means 50% of their friends are gay. Fuck that means they think 25% of their first 4 friends are trans.

Math is not their strong point apparently

  • We have collectively forgotten that correlation != causation

  • HOMM3 is like a warm blanket when you're sick and tired.
