  • This a million times over!

For a fun little proof of concept, go look at the authors of most of these business mag op-eds talking about how WFH "just isn't working". A disproportionate number of them are somehow heavily entwined in corporate real estate investments.

It is absolutely blatant frantic thrashing from people who had an easy ticket to cheap money and lost a lot of that value.

  • SEO centric content farms are a cancer on the internet and on information in general. We have the capability of democratically crowd sourcing the absolute best quality information out there, and make it available to anyone in the blink of an eye.

Instead we have an army of bots lazily rehashing half-content found on forums and reposting it as misconstrued fact, while battling with other bots for the top third of google's increasingly godforsaken, ad-ridden search results page. All so us poor sods can be interested in something, search for it, and be consistently disappointed in the results we get back while our data is sold to people who will actively work to make the situation worse.

It's truly a sad thing to behold.

  • Honestly, people are just trying to share pictures and life updates with friends and family. At least, the kind of people the person you replied to is referring to are. It wasn't something I thought much about until my wife (who is a teacher and more attuned to kids and privacy issues) mentioned she didn't want our kids to have a ton of people posting pictures of them everywhere. Once I sat and thought about it I was in complete agreement but it quite honestly hadn't crossed my mind before that.

  • I'm currently playing Omori and while I'm not very far in, so far the game really benefits from that sort of "console" feel the deck has.

Both Ori games were also amazing to play on the deck.

  • Not sure what country you're in, but at least in the US there is some precedent for a dying declaration being used to secure a warrant for search.

Considering how long ago this was and the fact that there is zero actual evidence I think you face a pretty extreme uphill battle in anything being done about this. It also sounds like, given your story, local authorities could be in on it. Makes it even harder.

Without directly pursuing this yourself using your own resources, potentially legally grey area tactics, and likely endangering yourself I have a hard time believing much can or will be done about this. But it's definitely a compelling story and I agree with the other poster that publicizing it may be your best bet.

  • Yes they are really good.

However consider the totality of your noise footprint when setting your expectations. I started with quieter case fans, which allowed me to hear how damn loud my cpu cooler was. Replaced that with a Noctua, and that alerted me to how loud HDDs are and how often my psu fan kicks in.

My case now has zero HDDs, all Noctua fans including CPU cooler, and a PSU that will stop spinning completely if temps drop below a threshold.

If my fans don't spin up over 50% I cannot hear them. It's great.

  • I think it gets forgotten a bit which is sad because it was actually a really revolutionary game. Call of Duty is the big name now, but in my opinion Call of Duty never gets as big as it is today without the groundwork laid by MoH.

  • Still very much going on Tears of the Kingdom. My kids love watching me play so I'm not in any real rush to be done with it.

Plus the looks I get at t ball games when my kids are dancing around chanting about the blood moon rising are priceless.

  • Oh man, you're in for a treat. The opening is by far the weakest part of the game so if you're already enjoying it you're going to love it when it opens up. Scan everything you can and soak up bits of story as they are given to you. It's a very slow burn that delivers expert pacing in revealing itself to the player.

  • Remains one of the most gripping, intense sequences in any movie I've seen.

And actually the video game incarnation in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (which is basically a playable frame for frame reproduction of the movie) remains one of the sweatiest, most intense video game sequences I've ever played.

Truly harrowing to both watch and play, this scene is really one of the true greats.

  • Lol yeah, I mean that is definitely the fight here. Those who actually care about it are extremely aware of the situation. Voting accessibility is a big topic, but us being the most severely gerrymandered state in the country is a more pressing concern right now.

The newly flipped state supreme court gives a small glimmer of hope for new maps. Much depends on that.

  • No, it is not automatic. You need to register for absentee voting for every election. You can do it for a full calendar year's worth of elections, but no more. If you miss turning it in (for instance, one year we ended up just going to the polls because we missed getting it in the mail on time), they automatically unregister you and you have to redo it.

So yes there is tracking per voter, which only really starts after they receive it.

We get no candidate information as part of this.
