Edit: I should disclose the fact that I have been making minimum wage this whole time. That said, most people I know make nearly average wages, and still have 3-4 digits in their bank accounts at all times
That was basically my exact response when someone made the comparison. Ostensibly though, the idea is that you get a random result in your happy meal, and it's designed to encourage you to buy more to collect them all. If the only difference is in the reality of being able to essentially bribe the House, then I don't see a meaningful distinction.

AI art generation isn't theft, it's the training that's problematic. These companies are using artists' work for free and without credit to generate massive amounts of profits, while simultaneously putting these artists out of work.
While I'm on this soapbox, making AI art doesn't make you an artist any more than commissioning an art piece does. There is literally no difference between telling the AI what you want it to draw, and telling a human what you want them to draw. You are not an artist, you are a client.
It's crazy to think how recently you could make a small change, and you would swap out almost all of the human race with people who were never born in this timeline. Consider the fact that you have 2¹ parents, 2² grandparents, 2³ great grandparents, etc. How far back do you need to go before the number of great×n grandparents is bigger than the population of the earth?
2³³ is over 8,000,000. That's 33 generations. A generation is what, 25 years? That's like 800 years ago. It is fair to assume that, isolated villages in China or wherever notwithstanding, you are descended from every single person who was alive 800 years ago (who still has living descendants). More so than that, everyone can safely assume the same.
You could swap out almost the entire population of the planet with a wholly different set of humans, if you just cockblocked any of your ancestors 1,000 years ago
