  • I'm guilty of the other way. I really don't know what else my mother is into nowadays, but since she raised me on Star Trek, I usually just get her Star Trek shit.

The thing is, she loves it every time. Or claims to.

  • My grandmother stocked raisins in a jar in her kitchen for 30 years because I once said I liked raisins.

It was cool to know there was a jar of raisins there basically just for me to have raisins. But I eventually didn't like raisins all that much anymore. But of course I'd have to have some raisins because she was keeping them there for me.

  • They claimed my package was delivered and it was nowhere to be found. I followed up and they just sent back the delivery confirmation. Said it was dropped off at a reception desk. My place didn't have a reception desk. Their CS went nowhere.

I ended up making a BBB complaint and whadooyaknow, I get a call from a supervisor at the local DC informing me that the package was actually delivered to a hotel two blocks away and they would retrieve it and redeliver it for me and apologizing for it taking so long. I had already gotten a reship from the vendor in the meantime. (Bonus, I ended up with twice the product)

  • Somedays I really have to question whether such people really exist. I mean really? What do they think America is?

Edit: I mean, I get it from the people in power, they want to cozy up to that power and so they will parrot its rhetoric. So companies, lobbyists, etc., sure.

But like, regular people? With day jobs? Who function in regular society going to stores and cooking food and cleaning homes and all that? What is their actual vision of America here?

  • growing up in my grandmothers house, she never ever ever used the front door except if there was some kind of event like a funeral. It was like, the fancy door.

they also almost never used the living room except when people were visiting.

  • Your life is the way it is because you've decided that it's more comfortable to leave it that way than to change it.

Srsly years and years of therapy this was the only thing that did anything for me
