Well it's because AMD's drivers are just shit period. But most users on Linux use the Mesa drivers which are far superior to AMD's proprietary drivers.
The same community the paraded the boycott turned around and upvoted people buying nvidia. Even if the same people who were pro-boycott weren't the ones posting their purchases, the community as a whole acted with a goldfish hivemind.
The "No one else is going to sacrifice, why should I?" mentality is precisely what enables this enshittification.
Devs really need to put their money where their mouth is.
Back after nvidias controversy a year ago or so, Reddit was filled with “boycott nvidia!” Posts, promises not to buy nvidia gpus, etc. then about 3 months later Reddit was filled with “Just got my RTX 4090 TI :)” posts.
If you actually want things to change, you need to change them.
Boycotts are worthless if you immediately 180 as soon as the controversy passes.
Not the point of the meme but, games that have a ranked mode are a red flag. Typically these games hare filled with sweaty try hards who freak over the tiniest bullshit mistakes. And these games also are typically the ones who install invasive kernel level root kit Anticheats.
I’m not installing an rootkit to play a game with a bunch of toxic people.
But the decorations are the best part. Cultural Event Decorations add to a feeling of a season. Sure some people put them up a bit early. But not everyone is into the spooky season. Despite their blatantly wrong opinion, they can decorate how they please... within reason.
What's obnoxious are people who go after you for not decorating or not decorating enough. People who tell you what to do in regards to decorations, are petty obnoxious little Karens.
Do not forget about the part where it constantly lingers overhead, and despite you thinking about it every moment and making every moment hell until you do it, you don't do it until that last minute anyway.
If there are so many bad drivers on the road, why are they there?
How are they allowed to pass their driver's exam?
If they're not licensed, how are they allowed to drive?
Why are the standards for getting a license or getting on the road so low?
The answer is simple, there is no alternative. Socially the thought of an alternative is considered to be looked down upon if it is even there at all.
Public Transit and Walk-able Infrastructure are fantastic alternatives for people who should not, could not, or would not drive. And with alternatives to driving in place, standards for driving can be made to rise without alienating the population from traveling.
