  • No more cars!!

  • Adobe: We’re gonna go buy Figma.

    EU: care to elaborate on-

    Adobe: Figma Balls

EU:… on how that doesn’t make you a Monopoly?

    Adobe: 😐

    EU: 😐

  • What are you gonna do, downvote me?

  • Alright y'all, this is the moment.

Time to go to all those Lemmy Communities about tech support and coding questions, and ask away/ give answers.

    GO GO GO!!!

This is the opportunity of a lifetime!

  • Damn still angry about that API?

It's funny seeing the corpos implode because they had record growth, which means nothing can match it in the coming quarters and therefore they're going to have to find someway to meet their stupid investor demands.

The only exemption is Twitter, which is just imploding because Elon is a dumbass and not because of greed.

  • They don't need to die, they just need to become irrelevant and for the fediverse to take over.

  • similar enough. 6c/12t 32gb system.

  • The main point the original comment made was that their "groundbreaking achievement" was their storage and streaming... which isn't really their achievement.

Netflix's technical achievement of DRM is Microsoft's god awful silverlight bs.

Their achievement was being first and showing what streaming could have been. Now that all the big companies have divided off into their own direction, Netflix had to rely on their own content. And Netflix's original content has become hollow, hype-bait, and frustrating.

  • Of course most everyone here would agree, but the likelyhood of that ever happening is incredibly low.

  • I may check out Peertube again. But it needs to have had a community group effort to crack-down on fascist content before I really adopt it.

  • Okay, I'm genuinely confused about the NextCloud hate.

I've been using it for a month, and It's literally had 0 issues.

Nothing about it seems unstable or slow. I'm 99% certain if you're having issues with nextcloud, it's a hardware issue.

  • Drive: NextCloud, FileCloud or Synology Drive are options. But your Intel NUC might be past it's due date if it cant handle something basic like NextCloud.

Meet: Skype and Teams exist for non-selfhosted options. As far as self-hosted options I'm not so sure for something like this.

  • You're better off.

  • Except Netflix uses AWS. Which makes it Amazon's achievement.

Literally all Netflix did was get streaming rights before streaming was mainstream, grow because of it, have everyone drive off into the sunset with said rights and make it all shittier.

All Netflix offers these days is 2 season shows that end on a cliffhanger, concerning controversies that make the industry worse as a whole, and Sony movies because Sony doesn't have their own streaming service for some reason.

  • I solved the issue of Firefox not following my theme on KDE by abandoning Firefox and using Waterfox.

Functionally identical in every way except Waterfox follows qt instead of gtk.

It’s a stretch, I’ve never used waterfox’s color picker. But it may also use qt instead of gtk.

  • Yea. It just can’t pack files into RaR.

  • George Lucas: Let someone else handle it.

  • IF you're going to run your self-hosted server to run a minecraft server, get a webclient front-end. Even though it's not FOSS and therefore a no-no with most lemmy users, AMP from Cube Coders is a great option, it starts a flat $10 fee for a permanent license. It has some fantastic features for remote backup among supporting other games.

However, if you're a bit concerned about that there is Pterodactyl, which I've heard good things about, but I went with AMP because it supports other game servers like GMOD.
