  • Doggy doggy hole. Doggy doggy hole!

  • Order one from Canada? Not sure. And of the big tech companies that control phones, Apple is by far the best (at privacy at least, repairability is on the other end of the scale), I wouldn’t touch anything made by Google or Samsung with a ten foot pole. Maybe an old windows phone? Nokia?

On that note though, I have a friend who literally doesn’t own a smart phone. He has a flip phone (a new one too, no clue where he bought it) and he seems to get along in society just fine. Idk. Definitely not for everyone.

  • Stop using the internet if you think all mods are bad. Moderators are on every site you use.

  • Neither of those will solve the problem in the comic.

  • Also due to markdown being a very badly defined “spec”.

  • lol and I understood the meta part but have no clue what the viral topless part means.

  • Most people mod because they love a community and don’t want it to die. If it weren’t for mods the forums you are currently using would devolve into spam and hate speech immediately. Sure some mods are bad, some are terrible, but the majority are good.

  • Mac is the best platform for coding as a profession, coming from someone who uses all three OSes and uses Mac for their job. You can jump the wall out of the “user isolation” and have both the application ecosystem of a popular OS with access to software like Excel while also getting all the benefits of Linux (no, wsl isn’t good and neither is wsl 2).

  • Your logic continues to make zero sense. What are you even talking about? You literally cannot even put together a coherent sentence. Good luck dude. Maybe you should take some time off the internet, come back, read how racist you sound in this thread, and then take some more time off, because you clearly are having issues.

  • Did you mean to respond to Gigan?

  • Really weird to compare to Python and C/++ when Java's closest competitors are definitely C# and Kotlin. If you were to rewrite that list comparing Kotlin and Java it would literally be nothing in favor of Java and all the same benefits for Kotlin plus more safety features. Honestly the whole article seemed forced, like @balder1993 said below. The part about java having 'functional programming' is also a laugh. It's all based on interfaces, and you have to use terminal operations to do anything on a stream, it's terrible design.

  • Anyone who doesn’t want to touch a Facebook product with a thousand foot pole.

  • Asdf is what you’re looking for. We use it in every repo and it manages every tool version with no issues.

  • Canadians are called american cause they’re in NORTH AMERICA, not cause US has a monopoly on the classification american.

Yes... exactly. dude. you literally just proved my point. India does not have a monopoly on the classification Indian. Holy fuck dude.

  • I meant tools like jq. I hardly ever use it as it’s hard to use and as a result I forget it making it even harder to use. The same applies to awk, sed, etc. Any tool with a bunch of command line flags and hard to understand arguments and syntax will always be low on my “want to use” list. Ripgrep is a prime example of how to build a command line app that is easy to use every time without trying to remember a billion things.

  • I would say it’s more a cautionary tale about how people’s health is often far more important than anything we do in daily life. This focus on deliveries over life is quite worrying

  • I use all these tools so little that I have to relearn them every single time, making them much less useful to me than they would be otherwise.
