  • Kagi is orders of magnitude better than DDG. I hated DDG results.

  • I hadn’t even seen other paid providers but I got real sick of Google about six months back, tried kagi on trial and paid for it before the trial was up, that’s how good it is.

  • Kagi. Way better than Google and DDG.

  • You mention brave but no mention of kagi? Kagi is way better than DDG too.

  • The hard part isn’t running ai on a device.. it’s doing so while retaining battery life, performance, and privacy.

  • All new Roku devices do that, even if it’s not a Roku tv. Roku went from one of the best video devices to the worst in one fell swoop. Literally the only good off the shelf device is the Apple TV.

  • God please don’t let him come here. We don’t want him. Send him to Florida please.

  • Looks like a K to me. Does Colorado get to claim the “rough shape” of it is in every flag lol?

  • I literally spent hours a few months ago trying to generate a scene exactly like this. Ugh. How do y’all do it?

  • I always think all the arguments are ridiculous because it’s essentially saying that someone is pronouncing a product (not a word) that they created incorrectly. This product even has a catchphrase for it. There’s literally nothing you can say to contradict that. It’s a product with a catchphrase that describes how to pronounce it. If you pronounce it differently then you do you, but you are wrong.

  • How does it hide a map?

  • CommonMark itself even claims that markdown doesn't have a spec, so not sure you can claim it's not badly defined. https://spec.commonmark.org/0.30/#why-is-a-spec-needed-

asciidoc is much better defined, has hardly any edge cases, supports vastly more features, and is a lot easier to use (the lack of a spec doesn't ever get in the way)

  • Website really struggled on mobile. Anytime I swipe to view the longer code lines in the code blocks it would open the sidebar. Very annoying.

  • My brother in law works as a biologist for a large processed food company and he has to measure and track all the different batches of food they process. According to him it’s the exact opposite, there are measurable amounts of pesticide in all of the non-organic foods they get in (apples, sweet potatoes, etc) and absolutely zero measurable amount of pesticides in the organic food they receive.

I used to think the same as you until hearing it from him that it’s an actual measurable difference and the exact opposite of what I thought.

  • That’s got nothing to do with being for profit…

  • No one I know uses WhatsApp either (thank fuck). No one wants to download another app that now they have to juggle between different sets of people. I’m a software dev and even I hate all this nonsense of ten different messaging apps. On any given day I might use slack, discord, Zulip, Google messages, imessage, and matrix. Two is too many, this is just ridiculous. Absolutely no one in America wants to be using this many apps to communicate. Which is why most people just use the default.

  • Same for me. Was never able to get literally a single other person using it.

  • oh haha. well that does sound viral, but how was that not banned? don't people get their streams removed for stuff like that? I gotta be honest, I hate twitch lol so I have no idea about any of it.

  • Unix time fails to work for the 'simple' case of timezones entirely. It's not meant for timezone based data and therefore unixtime in one timezone subtracted from unix time in another timezone will most likely give completely incorrect results. Even in the same timezone it will give incorrect results, see the 'simple' case of a country jumping across the international date line. Typically they skip entire days, none of which unix time will account for, as that would require not just time zone data, but location data as well.
