  • The ultra-rich have an addiction to money and power. Addictions are never beneficial. The addiction is driving them crazy.

  • As they say, it's for your security and convenience! Honestly! ::: spoiler spoiler /s :::

  • Some intentions behind this are mentioned in this WIRED article.

Related well-intentioned albeit misguided and possibly harmful concept is annoying password expiration that is also no longer recommended.

  • The novel the movie is loosely based on, Make Room! Make Room!, is great too, and the plot is quite different, so the movie doesn't spoil the book or vice versa. However, it's extremely bleak.

  • Well, to be fair, Matz (the Ruby creator) called Python a toy language.

  • Probably when V8 came out. Also Node.js.

  • If it's something interesting I would really like to read, I put it through https://archive.ph first.

  • That is a very optimistic opinion, but I'm sure those GM cars truly are about as close to the fully autonomous vehicle that could fully replace a regular human driven car in its regular setting as ChatGPT is to AGI.

  • Yes, Edge ones aren't too bad either, especially the stacking visualization feature.

  • I never liked them for shilling crypto way too much.
