I still can't get used to Dev Tools in Firefox, even though they might be superior to Chrome's.

I suppose to drive engagement with fake thumbnails, the same thing they do when they put irrelevant things into your search results (thankfully that one is easily blocked by a uBlock filter).

I personally just don't get Discord and find it very annoying when it's the only means to communicate about something. And it certainly doesn't feel like a good replacement for Reddit due to the many reasons mentioned in this thread.

Most interactions in life are based on trust, so I don't think you can be totally safe. However, you can choose who you trust enough so you don't have to constantly worry. You might find this speech titled Reflections on Trusting Trust by Ken Thompson relevant.

Also see Linus' Law, which postulates that more people looking at code means bugs get noticed and fixed quicker, and large open source projects usually have a lot of people working on it.

git is the best, but sometimes I wonder if its total domination in the SCM market is really a good thing.

Most used for me is Firefox (in fact I'm so used to it, it didn't even come to mind until I saw so many replies mentioning it!).

The favorite is probably git.

For the recently discovered stuff that would probably be the Astro frontend framework (and Svelte).
