If anyone reading this is one of those "undecideds" or were banging the third party drum and are tired of hearing "we told you so", well, bad news, buckaroos: You better buckle up because I'm just getting started.
commented this elsewhere, but the general idea is that by showing that an important contingent of the left won't vote for a pro genocide president, the democrats will have no choice but to run a candidate that is electable in the future.
this means that trump might be president in 2024. That sucks, but most of the damage has already been done (supreme court, senate, etc). Might as well show the dems that they have to run a candidate that supports the rights of civilians all around the globe
@fart@sh.itjust.worksThis you? How's that attitude working out for you now, huh? Hope your moral purity eases your conscious because this is partly on YOU.
"Both sides are bad, so I refuse to vote for either"
"Democrats need to earn my vote"
"Well, yeah, Trump is definitely bad. I don't want Trump. But I demand a pony and a blowjob. If the Democrats want my vote, they're going to have to do more than just stop Trump from killing all the ponies. "
Maybe Lemmy with federation disabled and use a nice 3rd party UI as the default interface for it. If you want to link up with similar community hubs, you can set federation to allow list mode and only federate with each other.
Wouldn't they need the Treasury systems to do that? The Treasury systems he is now in control of? (Granted, I'm not sure how asset freezes/seizures work at that level).
Can't answer for them, but I really wish people would stop posting screenshots of Bluesky or Mastodon posts which are themselves screenshots of Twitter posts and calling it "breaking news". Hardly quality sources.
But with music, movies, and TV, they'll just blame piracy, crank up the DRM and bullshit on their own platforms, pat themselves on the back, and raise prices.
Very well could be. Now that I think about it, I can immediately imagine "old book" smell, but cannot think of what "new book" smell is. My only recollection is the year in middle school we got new textbooks, and the plastic covers had a weird chemical smell to them.
I'm actually the opposite. I love the smell of used bookstores/libraries and old books in general. That said, every bookstore I've been to that sells new books also has a coffee shop, so all I smell there is coffee and baked goods.
Keep these coming. Don't let these people forget their culpability in single-issuing us to fascism or let them blame shift.
