Once in a while, though even then generally to minimum security, but house arrest is pretty common for wealthy convicts even without the secret service issue.

I'm not worrying, I'm fantasizing.

It's frustrating how the rich and powerful end up not having to leave their cushy mansions even when doing prison time.

I was getting a little choked up just thinking about it while reading the description of a day in the life at prison in this article and imagining Trump being subjected to it.

It seems like the people running it are pretty ideologically committed to the federation concept, I'd be surprised if it was never implemented. They seem to hope it will resolve some of the moderation problems that plagued twitter.

I guess you could argue it's many many millions of miles, doesn't have to exclude the total being in the billions, trillions or beyond.

Yeah humans being built on the spot is the best shot for us existing in other systems. Maybe if we have a reallllly pro-biological human ideology by that point it'll be something like an automated probe arriving in the system, building an industrial base, and then birthing and raising a new generation of biological humans to inhabit the system.

It's in sort of a weird intermediate space - it does have a federated protocol, but currently the main bluesky server is the only thing on it.

This is why companies should be run by their workers. Even places that start out with a good culture get taken over by the business school blob whose only job is to get promoted and loot the company.

Awful, we really need some kind of federal fast track for these sorts of badly needed projects that cuts through the NIMBY bullshit.

Pretty lame, basically just giving lifetime achievement awards to a bunch of beloved elderly actors rather than basing the awards on the shows and performances in question.
