  • NGL losing your guardian the first time you back is a skill issue. Maybe if the entire enemy team rotated to your lane. It usually takes at least 2 retreats to lose your guardian. More if you're playing with your lane teammate correctly and using your speed boost at the right times.

  • I don't think it's people that can't get into MOBAs, it's people that enjoy good movement and shooting mechanics, while also enjoying MOBA mechanics, which a lot of people fall into. I can also say for certain that SMITE will not scratch the itch of people who want good movement and shooting similar to a traditional shooter.

  • Because something is an FPS it can't be groundbreaking? FPS is an incredibly wide genre, something being an FPS does not mean it cant be doing new incredible things.

Not that I'm saying this game is groundbreaking, it isn't, but it is a really excellent fusion of two of the most popular genres in the world.

  • When I switched it didn't even have anything to do with the enshittification of Windows. I just thought it would be cool to try another OS. Pop_OS was really nice to use and this just so happened to be right around the time Proton was getting really good. I think the only game I was playing that didn't work was Siege, and I ended up preferring using Linux to playing it.

  • You don't need to be into BDSM to know the term gimp suit. I've seen it referred to in media plenty of times before. I think it's less common now, but it's likely the first thought of many people who hear the name. That or the offensive term for a disabled person, which is not any better.

  • It wasn't right for people to bandwagon and harass the project, but that doesn't mean he was right for closing this PR in the way he did. Him closing this PR is what caused the project to be attacked, not part of the attacks.

  • That's some big slippery slope fallacy. Privacy respecting AI was a highly requested feature, whether you wanted it or not.

Them adding an AI mail assistant that is completely private has nothing to do with them eventually not protecting user privacy. These things have nothing to do with each other.

AI is not inherently a privacy invading tool, its just that the majority of services offering it are free, hence them profiting off data.

  • I've been using Protonmail as my primary address for a few years now. I'm yet to have a single spam email make it to my inbox. In comparison, I use my gmail less and I've had a few blatant crypto scams make it to my inbox.

I'm not saying for certain that it's better than Gmail's, but that's my experience so far.

  • Yep, the browser extensions also have an encrypted cache, although it is less consistent imo. I've had times where my server was down and the extension just completely logged out then couldn't authenticate so I couldn't access the cache.

  • I love running a custom ROM, but I'm concerned RCS is going to become a deal break for me :(

I love that text messaging will finally not be complete shit between iOS and Android, but RCS is such a shitty locked down protocol.
