  • https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/abc-news/ https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/fox-news-bias/ These organizations are on very different levels of bias and credibility.

Furthermore, the ABC debate was already agreed to and scheduled. Why on earth would Harris agree to change the debate to a host known for spreading misinformation with an extreme right wing bias?

Trump chose to agree to this debate. He doesnt get to change the agreement after.

  • I'm interested in them finding a way to get AC working, but I really dislike this method of doing so. There are a ton of kernel variations, so this would really only work on specific distros and devices. This becoming standard would likely mean being unable to use optimized kernels, different schedulers, and other kernel modules like the ZFS drivers.

  • As far as I understand, the protocol and client apps are completely open souce. I do not believe the Bluesky software is open source, so you could not host an instance the same way you would with Mastodon. I could be missing something or not underatanding, but that's what it seems to me.

  • A great custom skin, and far better defaults for both privacy and speed, based on Betterfox.

The fact that a fork that simply has a better UI and default settings is gaining so much popularity shows how bad Mozilla is fumbling their product.

  • Bluesky is built on an open source ActivityPub alternative called "AT Protocol". However, Bluesky itself is not open source* and afaik does not yet federate with any other software. The company is a "public benefit corporation".

From my understanding, Bluesky has good moderation, to the point where Jack Dorsey (the Twitter founder) condemned it and withdrew from the project. That's a big plus in my book.

    • Another commenter pointed out that some parts of it are open source, such as the apps and at least some parts of the backend. Im not sure to what extent the backend is open source.
  • I do really wish mastodon had normal quote replies. I believe they decided not include it for reasons related to harassment or bullying. I don't really get it since you can do practically the same thing but just linking to the post in yours. The mastodon UI even makes it look almost the same as a quote reply.

  • My point was that a game being from a common genre has nothing to do with its ability to innovate. Not sure where I implied that I was obligated to reply to you. I disagreed with your sentiment, so I shared my own opinion. It's fine if you feel my comment was aimless, but I disagree.

  • streamers don't owe playing a single game forever to their viewers. If you like the streamer you can follow them to another game, or you can find someone else to watch. It'd be very strange to expect someone to play to not play the game they enjoy most just because you subscribe to them on twitch, especially when you can stop subscribing whenever.
