But... I stopped liking the crack way back when I realized there's a whole underworld of decent FOSS alternatives to most of the proprietary junk. Now what?!
Though it's not entirely without risk, I'm glad my parents, friends' parents and school did when I was a kid. I find it somehow sad if today's kids aren't exploring the web + world on their own (with advice) some of the time, and figuring out how to act carefully outside of the walled gardens, getting to know themselves and preparing for the realities of life.
I've come across almost the same one in my native language, but it's about a stork instead of a duck, and put to words a a bit differently. In English it'd go something like this:
What's the difference between a stork?
Both of its legs are the same length - especially the one of them.
House music has its origins in Chicago.
Techno music has its origins in Detroit.
Though the words are unfortunately being used almost interchangeably by unknowing people today, the genres are historically very different in terms of both technology, culture and other regional circumstances.
Yes, they do indeed musically have some elements in common, but even to this day, after years of evolution and borrowing of ideas, the two movements are still very different to each other, attracting different crowds, and the sum of the general sound of techno+subgenres is much different to that of house+subgenres.
To some people, everything with a 4/4 kick is the same. To me, it's like not differentiating between e.g. reggae and funk, or rock and disco. However, I understand why so many get it wrong, because most people around them do the same. I just thought I'd let you (and other people) know.
Unsure if you literally mean removal of hair in the ass, which you might also believe is expected of all women before they just go outside ... or if you're just swearing to seem like a dynamite chick?
It's possible a total makeover every day is how some people get their dates - it's a style, and it attracts certain types of people. But by having that "dumb" appearance, they also help all the brainier people who are looking for a partner with more in the head than on it, discarding them, since brainy people are more often interested in finding meaningful relations with interesting minds, rather than meeting "perfect" appearances, I believe.
I understand it's a serious problem that many try to live up to all these "beauty" expectations. It sounds like it's a bit of a burden to you, and I'm sorry if you and the people around you are seriously unable to discard the definition BigBeauty told you through many years of carefully planned commercial ads, but every real definition of beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and since only some of us truly believe in what BigBeauty claims, it doesn't necessarily prequire a daily total makeover of your face for someone to think you're beautiful.
Wait until you find out that she isn't real, and you've been transferring almost all your savings of semen to one nasty guy in Nigeria...
(lol, this presumes you haven't even met your "baby" yet, only believed in the cute photos your "wife" sent of them, since she still needs a bit more money (probably crypto or giftcards) to be able to afford the transport to come live with you!)
Hopefully, it's a very different story. Anyway, congratulations!
Another issue is that windowsa predatory person will eventually force a reboot onrape you with pending updatesupknocking. You can sometimes postpone it for a while, but eventually you'll be in the middle of something and itthey will just do it anyways.
Hopefully, we'll agree that rape is much worse, but the underlying principle is the same: some entity abuses something you own - your body/property. Since you're the owner, you exclusively should be in control.
Unfortunately, it can sometimes be necessary to leave an abusive partner/OS. This can be challenging if you "need" one but they're all evil and dominating. M$ is not abusing its users as violently as some people are abusing their partners. However, their subtle abuse of their users takes place on a much bigger scale. Not only in this (pretty unimportant) regard, but also by e.g. unwanted telemetry/tracking. Luckily, non-abusive partners of the Linux family are becoming easier to find and date, and many are already flirting with one or more of them.
