They are able to change the outcome of races with seemingly unlimited money. A spend of 8.4 million in a Missouri primary is absurd, and likely is a drop in the bucket of what is spent influencing the presidential race.

I don't think there is a way to fix this either, since the people that should be writing laws to prevent it are the ones benefiting the most.

I imagine this is also happening in Republican primaries, so one can't just vote differently to address the root cause. Both republicans and Democrats seem to be tripping over each other to prove what a friend they are to Israel. It's really weird and stressful to be a US citizen right now.

Especially with the oils and perfumes and incense.

The other option is for all the mods to quit. AI can probably do a lot of basic tasks, but without mods they wouldn't have a site pretty quickly.

These tech workers are not Bezos. They are just developers and technical people that thought they had a good job with competitive salaries. It sucks they have to uproot their lives because management is being shitty.

They may work for a company without ethics, but that's kind of the corporate landscape these days.

Either turn off the gas if you can safely do it, or call your gas company so they can shut off the supply to your house.

My Samsung I bought last year required an Internet connection during setup, but after it updated it "allowed" me to disconnect it. Just to be extra safe I connected it to a guest network that I changed the password on so it couldn't remember the credentials. The menus have ads (that never change), but I set the TV to default to the last HDMI port when it turns on.

I wish they had an AOSP sort of approach to TV where I could install a new ROM and customize the TV OS with whatever changes I'd like, so I didn't need extra devices to view Plex and my streaming channels. DRM shuts that dream down pretty quickly though.

I hope that some privacy forward brands will emerge, but there just doesn't seem to be consumer demand or awareness.

I hope I can continue to make the smart TV dumb by never giving it network access. When that fails I'll have to hope the pihole handles some of it. The other fun option might be to put it on a VPN in the EU and hope that it enables some gdpr options.

I used to have a KVM that was this style. There is a physical button on top to switch between the connected devices, and it listens for double scroll lock taps to perform the same action with the keyboard.

I'd be more skeptical installing any drivers this ali express device comes with.

"Action" as a verb is about as vague as you can get. Does that mean an angry Facebook post, contacting representatives, staging an event, or violently overthrowing the government?

I'm guessing it'll mostly be Facebook posts with a handful of people actually gathering in real life doing something stupid.

So how do I do something to help? I live a few states over and don't want my representatives getting any ideas.
