  • velcro is super good tho. should be on more adult size shoes. velcro doesn't come loose by itself (then dipping into dirt), doesn't get caught on things or in machines and doesn't rip in the worst possible moment when you're in a hurry. it's just a bit harder to clean.

  • yup. sad but true. they also reinvest some in making shows and movies, but the most part goes to top managers. Netflix CEOs get >$40 Million per year, for example, and they also have other top management positions. it's insane. nobody needs 40 mio. per anno. there are people starving out there.

  • AFAIK netflix doesn't pay dividend, so the shareholders see nothing of that. the top managers probably pocket it all. the shareholders have to gamble on the stock value or buybacks to make profit (except the ones who are also top managers, of course)

  • instances should have a split front page with their own videos and videos from other instances, so people can dive right in from any instance.

the search on instances should also offer hits from other instances, somehow marked. following them should lead to that other instance.

there should be a flagship homepage that doesn't need to host own content, but shows content from other instances. it is something ppl can bookmark or share as a starting point.

  • what does it matter whether it's not korea. what matters is, if it's good. there is lot of good kpop and ppl around the world enjoy it. isn't the idea of broadcast to hear new or exotic things? otherwise, you could just listen to your own music collection over and over.

  • Then what's the point of investing?

It's basically gambling, getting tiny dividends and getting votes in the shareholders' meetings.

That way you could only buy stocks and never sell them.

No, you can sell them to other gamblers, like trading cards.

  • no, the share price doesn't reflect the worth of a company, but the worth of the shares. if all shares just suddenly vanished, the company would still be there and still be worth the same. the share price may just increase the money they can make by emitting more shares.

  • IMO with stocks, one is only responsible when buying from an IPO or other emissions directly from the company. otherwise the buyers money goes to another investor, not the company. at least unless one buys enough that votes actually make a difference.
