Oh that's cool i guess i didn't think of it as live music only. I was picturing a place where they blast a DJ or playlist way to loud between bands playing.

Yeah it's a good plan if you can do it. But with moving around allot I don't really have those old friends in the area. It's regretful now but as a teen and up to my early twenties. I was of a mind set I'm just going to move in a few years anyway might as well stick to myself. I was that kid in high-school that just did his work didn't bother anyone. Then just disappeared without you really noticing him. You might have asked to barrow a pen in class.

I love the idea of Garak reading that and being disgusted at being called part of the military. The obsidian order looks down on the military as Guileless Brutes.

Yeah I tried a discord group called Gamers Who Chill: DFW but it tended to skew to collage kids or teens. Didn't feel comfortable engaging. As i didn't want to come off like a creepy old dude by talking to kids.

That's interesting how do you get to know people? Doesn't the music make it hard to hear people? I feel like in that scenario i would go listen to music and have a good time but would still be alone in a crowd.

Yeah i so get you dude. It's funny you bring up being British. I'm half English and have the same problem when I go to cons. Like I went to the local Vintage Computer Festival South West. People were nice but just could never get anyone make the jump to genuine connection.

Being on crutches I think puts it on hard mode. As people ether consciously or unconsciously just don't want to deal with disabled people. I feel that is less an issue in the UK but in the states most people are down right hostile sometimes to disabled people.

Yeah unfortunately most of my interests are stuff that are done solo. Im also not sure if those interests became my interests because i have been solo most of my life. Moved around allot as a kid. That's why I want to bridge out to new things.

It's not so much we need manual labor but skilled technical labor. Like plumbing, electrical, working with pulse logic controllers, Mason, welder, Nursing, emergency room technicians. Etc

See this is good stuff and I try the asking questions about them even though I have not mastered not sounding like an interrogation. My biggest struggle is the how to kick off the conversation with a stranger without seeming creepy or imposing in their bubble.

How do you figure out if someone wants to chat? This can be even harder if the other party is a woman. As we all know what hell they go through and I'm not talking about wanting to chat with them to pick them up but just make new friends.

So job hunting is allot harder now because recruitment departments is being overwhelmed becase people are applying for 1000s of jobs a day using AI. So your resume is getting lost in the mountain of applications. Unfortunately that means two things keep at it and it will just take longer or work with a headhunter.

The answer to this could be just write a letter like a real one on paper. Say your peace, send it and if they reach out after great. If they throw it in the trash, well you made the effort and can put it behind you.

When you're disabled and going out you get tired of watching people avoid you. They see you, you smile they look away quickly when they see your arm crutches.

Had a lady talk to me for a good hour while I was sitting in a booth. We were having a good conversation getting to know each other. Then I go to get up and grab my Crutches from under the table. She awkwardly tells me she needs to use the restroom and i never see her again.

In your 20s you try, in your 30s you get depressed, in your 40s you accept.

I hear you and if you keep up with the free games from gog epic and prime gaming giveaways. It never stops growing.
