  • The 12GB will not actually be available for apps. 4GB will be reserved for gemini nano. So, in effect you will only have 8GB of RAM.

  • Most already do. This is the 1st we have been hearing for a while. Consistently since the Pixel 4a

  • I have used cheaper budget and midrange phones. To date I have never experienced this issue ever.

This is the 1st I have been hearing since the Pixel 4a. Let's not justify google.

  • I have a 3yrs old samsung, heck even a 2019 redmi smartphone which work and did not get a swollen battery. 2yrs is a very short timeframe for battery being toast. Goes to show the way google cheaps out on battery components.

  • Have you considered using a podcast player which can play local files?

They are specifically built with annotations and notes and should help better in this regard. I can't give specific recommendation but you can find a good one on fdroid by searching and using some.

  • Android has added app archival feature for app stores starting with Android 15. Currently unobtanium does not do it since the developer has not implemented the api and necessary features to support it.

  • Check the difference on other phones. Try different file manager apps to see which can do the task faster. Try turning on battery saver mode – sometimes background processes can slow foreground apps.

To be consistent test 3 times in flight mode. Also, when your phone is warn/hot it can slow down drastically compared to when its cold to the touch.

  • UFS 3.1 is not necessarily bottleneck here. It also depends on the optimization by OEM.

According to this youtuber some brands UFS 2.2 storage outperforms UFS 3.1 storage used by other brands solely due to their software optimization. Skip the video to 04:54s to see the zip uncompression test and a few mins back to see the results of other tests.

  • Can you share a test file so we can compare the results and rule out a bottleneck with your device?

  • I can recommend Antimatter dimensitions. It does have some ads for bonus and in-app putchases. But, you absolutely can finish the game without any of it. I have an adblocker installed so receive the ad bonus without even getting an ad.

  • Smart launcher does auto app classification based on categories.

  • You are not tripping. That's what we all heard when android 16 was being developed. At this moment its only enabled in the android 16 QPR1 release. So uber will have to target that androids API version and add support to show them.

As for uber and uber eats already doing this. They use a custom implementation which works without using the new Live Notification API.

    • high thermal output

  • Or maybe switch to something like FairEmail, k-9Mail/Thunderbird which can already this and lots more.

  • I mainly use Foss software. But, this is one app which is not Foss and I use.

  • Have you considered reporting the battery drain issue to the Kvaesitso devs? They could fix it if it can be reproduced.

  • The leak in question: 7000mah vs 3900mah (s25) to 5000mah on 25 Ultra

  • For their mission statement this is acceptable. You can't easily do things like fairphone without also charging a premium for that.

If they start exploiting labour like chinese OEMs they could offer similar or cheap phones like them with better specs.

  • They may have registered a patent in Japan before samsung whose modem google uses.

You need to register a patent individually in most countries otherwise you need to pay royalties for usage of that patent in that country.

You can see this with Nokia, Ericsson and others barring smartphone sales in the past in some countries.
