  • Doom scrolling. The thing is though when I take time off work I don't touch the internet at all for days on end. I work on my hobbies instead. It's when I only have a day or two of free time (even less when you account for having to do chores) and not enough time to finish whatever I'm working on along with whatever I have to come back to next Monday weighing on my mind that I just turn to my phone instead. That's only working 40 hours a week too. There are people in far worse situations than me.

  • This reminded me of the time I came back to work after being off for 2 days and immediately noticed someone had touched my desk. Nothing was missing and I couldn't even say how I knew but things were just "off". It turned out the trainer was showing some new hires how a device I was testing worked which is fine because I was the only one in our office that had one but I was fairly pissed for a bit until I found out.

  • As someone who can't code (not a developer) but occasionally needs to dip my toes in it. I've learned quite a bit from using chatgpt and then picking apart whatever it shat out to figure out why it's not working. It's still better than me starting from scratch on whatever it is I'm working on because usually I don't even know where to begin.

  • Just upgraded mine. As far as I can tell it works exactly the same as before except there is now a "Hub" web portal and admin console you can use to give out access to your projects. Reading the documentation they said it would break existing shares. It prompted me that it would ask additional questions during the set up depending on what I was doing but I didn't have any previous shares and did not get any additional questions. I would assume the 30 day grace period is to plan for this so you can get any shared documents straightened out afterwards. After the update it prompted me to "set up how I use fusion" by picking a module and then if I wanted it to start with a blank document or a previous document or a demo. That was annoying but didn't reappear after I re-launched the app. All in all I don't think this is that much of a concern. Looking at the web admin page the options it gives seem like they would be useful for someone sharing projects.

  • From reading it the reason seems to be to allow people who are currently sharing projects to coordinate the move so everyone retains their access. It didn't seem fishy to me. I'm just a hobby user though so I don't have as much to worry about.

  • I had a similar experience a few years ago. I haven't even tried dating again because trying to rework my life to incorporate another person at this point just sounds like a giant pain in the ass and I'm old enough now that it seems like everyone I meet around my age who's still single is living a train wreck of a life so it wouldn't be worth the effort anyway.

  • I'm pissed off. I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it. If there's a protest near me I'll join it. If I see somebody getting fucked with by a Nazi I'll step in but I have responsibilities and a job and can't really afford to travel. So until shit really kicks off I'm kind of stuck in this state where I can't do anything.
