  • Christopher Nolan’s Batman is cut from a different cloth though.

It’s far better than anything Marvel’s ever put out, and isn’t confined to being good “comic superhero movies”, they’re just good movies to the point that even my mother loves the dark knight.

  • It’s like one of those template things that people need to say at a funeral, regardless of the truth.

When my mum’s stepdad died they said he was beloved and a good man, when actually he was a nasty piece of work that no one liked 🤷‍♂️

  • Okay…

I don’t know what to tell you, everyone I speak to who’s seen it would get an explanation that I hadn’t paid for a kinky childhood character to be painted on the side of my house and I don’t want it there…

  • I said it in another thread, but Unity has truly fucked the vendor-client relationship.

While it is a nightmare, you can work with a company that changes its prices and terms, but you absolutely can’t work with a company that pulls this level of BS.

It’s just not safe to have your company so dependent on a vendor that could tank it on a whim.

  • Not a specifically bad instance, but everywhere I’ve worked has always had that guy who has a hundred irrelevant questions at the end of a meeting, holding up 10 or so people from actually getting on with work.

  • You’d have to be crazy to want to work with this company anymore.

Forget about this being a “video game scene” specific drama. As a vendor, they’ve just fundamentally destroyed any credibility they had with their clients.

  • While it may not be the best option, is it not good that somewhere is at least trying it?

As long as it’s not widespread adoption, it seems like a good idea to at least trial these sort of things on a small scale to properly determine the real world application, even if the conclusion is just “yeah, it shit”.

  • Now, occupying an oil refinery, and disassembling as much as you can while inside, contaminating batches, cutting wires, that's another story.

That’s more what I meant, destroying the infrastructure they’re using to extract the fossil fuels, as opposed to trying to destroy the source.

  • Not advocating for it, but I do wonder why we don’t hear more about people doing this.

I wonder if it’s one of those things that’s kept out of the mainstream media, or if it just doesn’t happen that much.

  • I got into cycling a few months ago, but I’m pretty much done with it at this point. Last week I was nearly hit twice on a 10 minute ride…

I love it, but it’s just not safe, and I find that it’s just a stressful experience at this point. It’s also not just cars, pedestrians have zero respect for a cyclist on a road or shared cycle path.

I’ve had people just walk out into the road and expect me to go around… people wouldn’t do that with a car ffs.

Then I’m getting shouted at on a shared path because someone had to move slightly to one side, despite the rules being that no one has right of way.

Government wants me to cycle? The government can get fucked.
