  • Recipe: “Start by putting x in the oven for 30 minutes. While that’s cooking, prepare the next part and cook that for 25 minutes so it’s all ready at the same time.”

Me, about to put the second part in the oven after preparing it for 20 minutes:

  • I agree, but I don’t know how much you can help these people to the point that they don’t do those things at all.

They’re people who will always have unusual behaviour and use the bus. And as selfish as it may sound and despite wanting them to get the help they need, it’s uncomfortable to be around.

  • There used to be two local bus companies where I am, but they merged recently.

I only use the popular route and it seems better than it was years ago, but I think other routes have gone to shit since.

While I like the convenience of the bus route I use, almost every journey there’s a guy whose pants are falling down, or someone who’s barking like a dog. That’s the main thing that puts me off using the bus, and I’m not sure what you can do about that :/

  • Windows 10 and 11 are the same product, just a new version…

They’re also extremely similar (damn near identical), and if you currently use windows 10 then eventually you’ll have no option but move to 11…

  • Can you tho?

You’re gonna get a whole team of people retrained with software they’re not used to, probably doesn’t have proper support or learning resources to fall back on, and may lack features or compatibility?

They might save some money, but a lot of businesses are more than happy to pay a lot to ensure they don’t have to worry about the above, and they can get on with their company’s actual purpose.

  • Jazz is so good. I listen to jazz fusion mainly and I can’t believe some of the stuff I hear from relatively unknown artists.

I don’t have an issue with most mainstream music, but it does make it clear how much popular music is influenced by marketing rather than just the music.

  • That’s what I’m doing, but I don’t think it’s just a conservative issue.

It’s a politician issue and I’m so jaded now that I don’t think there’s ever really a good option.

I always vote for the best option I can see, but it feels pointless at times. But then I know that’s what the worst option wants voters to feel, so I vote anyway :/

  • I went through a period of reading Private Eye, but had to stop as it was destroying my mental health.

Honestly such a great magazine that highlights how dog shit our government is, but it’s just so depressing after a while.

  • My mother will go through periods where she decides to fall out with everyone.

She’ll start taking offence to irrelevant things, accuse people of being out to get her, and just generally make mountains out of molehills.

I avoid close relationships with people as I assume it will inevitably end with a massive fallout.
