I used to be active on /r/mma which was actually a decent sub with good moderation, but there was also /r/ufc which was just awful.
A place for teenagers to post dogshit takes and say shit like “I can’t wait to see X fighter get knocked out”. They treat it like WWE, wanting it to be a dramatic story and not the competitive sport that it is.
I find it’s helpful when you get like 18 upvotes and 22 downvotes.
If I just saw 4 downvotes I’d be thinking “did I really say something that stupid?”, so it’s nice to know that at least some people are on the same wavelength as me.
For some reason people seem to think they’re fundamentally smarter than people were back then.
Yeah, you may have technically had a better education, but you’re not inherently more intelligent than the average person back then, and a genius from that time is still miles ahead of you.
Thanks, I’ll definitely need to give Linux gaming another shot then.
The last bit that might hold me back is getting my Hue Sync stuff working. It sounds silly, but it really makes games feel so much more immersive that I don’t want to be without it.
I’ll need to give Linux gaming another chance at some point.
All I know is that people were saying games run great on Linux a couple of years ago as well, but when I actually tried it for myself the performance was unusable.
Maybe that was my fault for over complicating my setup, but even when I tried a basic setup it still felt very janky.
Not sure if anyone’s able to advise, but does RTX and variable refresh rate work on Linux?
To sustain our ongoing development efforts, about half of Signal’s overall operating budget goes towards recruiting, compensating, and retaining the people who build and care for Signal. When benefits, HR services, taxes, recruiting, and salaries are included, this translates to around $19 million dollars per year.
That’s a really stupid thing to think.
I totally knew they weren’t birds 👀
