  • good set of questions while trying to be non biased on certain topics.

for me, topics about privacy and misinformation matter more than ai. i would like them to lean more on helping me identify ai generated text and deepfakes as far as ai is concerned.

i also liked that mozilla study about smart cars so more of that is nice.

  • when i get to the point i think i am bored i think "maybe i am tired?" or "maybe i am hungry" or "maybe i need to unwind?" and it is surely one of those.

afaik, never really experienced pure boredom.

  • america is a capitalist country, or so i read and heard. money should be the motivator here.

and i also see your point. the general trend of money is to move upward. your fighting chance is to get the money to stay longer in your hands for you to benefit before it gets sucked up.

all i can say here is don't stay too much on the bigger things. more likely, you will not have control for any of those. focus on the smaller things you can change on the dailies.

  • lemmy - news and funny pics and the casual convo

x - look at artists' work and get inspiration

yt - yt has chat (social) and clips (media)

fb - for the rest of the family

discord - some local interest news

  • imo propaganda. memeship. education policies.

propaganda is easy because all the mainstream media is about Trump doing unhinged things. Free PR.

memeship is likely a product of propaganda where the internet regurgitates controversial topics to milk more engagement.

As others have said, a lot of people already have almost zero critical thinking and the elections are just a test of who they remember the most.

    • the money involved. someone with no financial backing will have a hard time campaigning. and with mostly private news and entertainment channels, good luck with that.
    • separation of church and state, yet you see someone with this "faith council" and church endorsements. i guess, i think there should be some sort of commission to lay down rules and enforce them.
    • debates and fact checking, i don't get why fact checking isn't allowed on an event that is supposed to inform people and help them decide.
  • Everytime relatives share me their facebook links, I get reminded how bad the facebook web site is.

There's full page banners upon banners reminding you to log in before showing the 2- /5- /7- /20- second video. Some videos play automatically after the target video not even allowing you to replay the original if you missed something. Endless hours of engagement~!

  • bork rings a bell for me. from the sweedish chef. my headcanon is when you try to work but totally borked it. the original intention may be different.

sus. suspicious. easier to say and since everybody almost knows it, they can easily catch on. totally not "jesus".

gg/rip. good game. i find very flexible to use and feels like it's acceptable in most circumstances to mean "it's over".
