  • imo, it takes a kind of effort to be constantly "aware" and "battling/ avoiding" depression. it would be nice if the brain just auto-switches in battle-mode but that's not its natural state.

As for how I battle my own, I do hobbies like plants, walking and reading; and sleeping. Sometimes I do cheat days.

  • there's usually signs for me to help decide:

    • yawning, teary-eyed: I need to top-off sleep
    • eyes tired of being closed and/ or mind already wandering: time to get up
    • if not those, I can always stay in bed longer and chill
  • no proof, but it can be attributed to a kind of addiction and dopamine association.

it is not that you start hating the average food, but your mind misses that dopamine hit the good food carries. think of it like a withdrawal like effect where your body is now conditioned and has a "higher bar" for things.

  • I couldn't think of any public trust that's going to benefit to a buy out like this.

To me, it totally makes sense for a private entity/ corpo to handle private data [with consent] from its clients.

I see this as more like the old 23andMe had a private service going on that can't the public sector doesn't. It doesn't make sense for the government the size of USA to prioritize/suddenly adjust policies and provide the same service.

What could be possible is for local governments to step up via public petitions -- but even that could be a stretch in terms of cash-in-hand.

  • the teacher will be fine, if the goal is just lecturing. students, on the other hand, will need more that sheer willpower if they want to absorb anything lectured.

i think the sweet spot should be lesser than 40 as I had my struggles learning in a class of 40ish.
