  • I miss the instant channel switching on old analog tv sets. Everything now is digital so the switching is done with microprocessors, but on old sets you could flip through about 5 channels a second, as fast as you could press the button.

  • because any criticism of Biden right now helps Trump to become president. Save your criticisms when there is an actual open primary (ie: 2027), it's already too late for a challenge to Biden this year, as a majority of states ballot access filing deadline dates have already passed.

  • same here, since 2008. Pretty much every user of the site was on the same standard default subreddits. I don't like what Reddit has become but I don't blame them like a lot of people here.

Honestly they were a corporation from the get-go, out to make money once it became popular. They built something no one else did.

  • No one knows the exact way Facebook will try to destroy the fediverse, but I guarantee you they will try.

It challenges the foundation of their entire companies' profit model. If they lose total control of the social network they will be out of business as quick as you can say Myspace.

  • That's not how EEE works at all. Facebook will embrace Lemmy, extend/improve Lemmy, and then extinguish/disadvantage the native Lemmy community, until the Lemmy server serves so little of a purpose it is shut down.
