  • A surprising (and impressive) number of their Kirkland branded stuff is made in Canada, with a few even being product of Canada.

Yeah, it's still an American head office, but they treat their employees well, and they're pushing back against stuff like Trump's anti DEI policies, so I'm willing to cut them a bit of slack.

I'm still buying made in Canada there, though. Or made not in the USA (got beans from Mexico, prosciutto from Italy and olives from Greece as part of my last shop there)

  • Seriously, what's wrong with the other 45%?

Remember the apathetic non-voters who don't pay attention to news, politics, current affairs or anything beyond their immediate surroundings....

  • They are definitely using STUPID TACTICS in order to get MORE CLICKS.

That's just the way youtube works. If you want to make a financially viable youtube channel, you don't really have an other option than to play the game.

  • As a european working in the weapon industry, I love reading american people thinking we make no weapons or the weapons we make are worse.

American exceptionalism has been a major feature of the Americans self image for many generations.

It's really tiring living beside them and having to hear them constantly blathering about it.

  • There's more guns than people in this country.

We know, you Americans can't stop talking about it.

But Americans also claim that all those guns are supposed to keep the government from getting corrupt and taking away their rights.

I don't see the most corrupted government in your country's history being scared to act because of all those armed citizens.

  • The government of the USA is horrifying

The lack of pushback is equally concerning.

If a foreign actor had directly attacked the Americans, they would be up in arms ready to "glass parking lot" whatever country had attacked them, but this attack from the inside (though partially pupprteered from abroad) is going almost entirely unchallenged (and barely noticed inside the country thanks to a mostly captured and complicit media).

  • It's just going to fuck up our standing in the world of geopolitics

    It already has.

Im still of the belief that our safety nets are gonna catch this one.

I hope you're correct, but we can't rely on that.

Individuals have to also take action, and keep pressure on the people who are supposed to be preventing these abuses.
