The idea behind tariffs is you take the money earned by sale of foreign goods and invest it in domestic production.

Except, due to Trump's lashing out randomly at the rest of the world, the world is turning its back on American companies and American made products.

He was never a good businessman, though.

If he hadn't started with inherited wealth, he would never have been able to get to where he is.

And in those few other examples, it's not a position that has any particular importance to the state.

Where the US first lady has often acted in a pseudu-ambasador role.

The term "second lady" most certainly existed long before this.

But only in the US as far as I know.

Most other countries don't have a title or official position for the spouses of the elected heads of state.

USA already has more or less free access to build any military base they want there

Which makes it extra stupid that Trump is demanding that he own Greenland for security reasons. The Americans can already expand their base there whenever they want.

and Americans will struggle the most.

I keep trying to encourage Americans to put in the effort to stop Trump and his sycophants/minions from escalating this trade war into a shooting war.

So far they either ask me for a detailed plan to save their country from itself or say its pointless to even try...

By "economic harm" he means don't try to stop me. Don't fight back. Just take it like a good little victim.

There are dozens of things that have happened in the last 2 months that Americans should be protesting.

Millions of them.

Constantly.

And I filmed from the sidelines.

And lived to tell the tale far and wide.

the police did technically identify themselves as police

Verbally and with noting to help back up that claim.

Where is the good guy with a gun?

In a coffee shop cosplaying as a tough guy.

Zuckerberg wears t-shirts comparing himself to Julius Caesar?

Yet March 15 has come and gone yet again without Zuck having a bad day.

Verifiable facts are not part of their thought process.

The overwhelming amount of media that the US produces and exports does an effective job of portraying American exceptionalism in a positive light

Those who fail to (or refuse to) learn history are doomed to repeat it.

That's why, if you want the NDP (or whatever party you are closest aligned with) to make better policy choices, you should become an active member of the party and get involved long before an election.

My boss is a retired mechanic who thought Trump was gonna run the US "like a business."

Running government like a business is a horrible idea.

The 2 are vastly different types of organizations with very different goals and motivations.

Hopefully this is only the start of a growing series of protests and rallies.

Americans really need to get out by the millions and save their country before there's nothing left to save.

It's a full time job keeping track of all of Trump's lies.

And not one that is good for the 'ol mental health.
